I was 16 also. I heard about it on the 17th. I had gone to bed before the 10pm news. Getting ready for work,as I had left school 2months earlier, I had radio on (my constant companion) never wanted to miss out on hearing ELVIS ,then the 7.30am news came on.😢😮😢 My mom came running up the stairs. Is it really 46 years seems like yesterday the emotions are always there just hovering. Now we have the loss his Princess. Take care.x

I was watching Candlenight Vigil Monday night 8/15 from Graceland! Crying again and both sad for not being there but glad you both are still filming for us fans who could not make it to Memphis! We all remember where we were and how old we were when he died my parents had a little guest house here in uk my mum couldnt stop crying and covered all the mirrors and pictures with black material put photos and flowers by a mirrorglass photo pic of aloha elvis x

I have to say Yall I am shocked that the Ranch where Elvis spent his honeymoon and has that sign in the wrong place is boarded up! What the heck? I was 13 when Elvis passed. He'll never be forgotten.

The “Board” isn’t in the wrong spot…. The historic marker is on state property, not private property, which is Circle G ranch. Pretty standard practice.

I'll never forget this date in history. *08/16/77* I believe Elvis died from an interaction from his many medicines and the codeine from this, his last dental visit. Of course he, according to Ginger Alden took three doses of medications that night. He played raquetball also, could it have been that somehow he injured his heart muscle? With three doses of meds and codeine on board you could hurt yourself and not even feel the pain. I hope he didn't have any pain. Hoping *OUR KING* is truly at peace now. Sure is hard to fathom Elvis has been gone so long. I'm 62 now.. I still remember finding out. Even remember the meal I was eating.. Spaghetti and meatballs. Watching Channel 31 ( NBC ) Huntsville Alabama. The correspondt came on and not gunshy about it delivered the devastating news. I couldn't believe it at first . But was both stunned and shocked. Crushed . R.i.p King Elvis.

Thanks guys!! Awesome as usual! I may message you about this, I’m wondering if you have a copy of the video loop that used to run at the original waiting area at the Lisa Marie. It was the renovation/upgrade to make it “air worthy”? It shows the jet in it’s terrible condition In Florida I believe. And the upgrade it needed to fly it back to Memphis. It played for a few years in the building next to the jet. I want to see it again, if you remember it.

Geez when u mentioned dentist appointment a thought popped up. If Elvis had work don’t at the dentist that needed sedation than later on ofcourse he took more packs of meds when he couldn’t drift off … so he really got more meds than usual.
