This game is totally my cup of tea. Cards that interact with each other, though decisions to make and a great gameplay mechanic. For me the best game 2015 so far.

Thanks for the review! This game actually reminds me of Guildhall since the cards powers stop working when they are scored. You are also collecting sets in Guildhall similar to this. Elysium is very replayable because of the combination of decks while Guildhall you can mix and match which roles to use (unless you play the Mega Variant where you use everything!)

There is a vivid discussion on BGG whether the game plays well with two players. You mentioned that you have a different experience if you play only with two. All in all, is the game still as fantastic with two as with four players?

having just picked this up I'm amazed it didn't seem to sell. It destroys 7 wonders duel for me so completely that I sold it and you can play up to 4p if you want to. Given that the designers say the expansion is finished but the game didn't achieve enough circulation for it to be published I sort of wonder what happened.

This game is BLOWING UP at Origins... Everywhere you look, it is on a table... It is very fun... Good pace, even if you are just learning how to play.

That's why you have to do some prep work before you play, Zee. You have to pick the right combinations of decks with the right combinations of actions that will be the most effective in the game. A little time and effort will pay off in gold and victory points.

I'm pretty sure there are a lot more than 56 different ways to choose five of eight. 8*7*6*5*4 = 6720 different ways to pick five of eight.

+Corey Redmon actually there are 6720 different ways to select 5 from 8, but for every combination of five cards there are 5*4*3*2*1=120 different ways that those cards can be ordered, and you are counting each of them in your count of 6720. hence you have to divide 6720 by 120 to find the unique number of combinations which is 56.

If I'm playing and in the middle of the game I see that I'm loosing, is there a possibility to make a comeback? Alot of games that I play, when I know that I'm loosing, there's almost no way to comeback. I LOOove DEUS because ther's a possibility that with only 1 combo card I can comeback and give a swet to my oponents.

I can't stand when companies stylize Greek-themed products and games with Greek letters that look like Latin ones but don't make the same sound. As written on the box, this game is Xlpssfum.
