Please listen to your parents advice Elzani, they only want you to be happy and healthy again. As someone who has been through recovery I know how difficult it is, I truly do, but there is no better feeling than being recovered and no longer fearing food. The first time I ate and realized I didn't feel guilty for it was euphoric. You are worth so much more than your ED makes you believe. I really wish you the best in recovery, keep pushing yourself xox

This isn't great advice. She is eating. She needs professional intervention, not parents telling her to just eat more. Her disorder goes so much further than food and having people tell her to eat
@Katie-oo2yu
@Katie-oo2yu 5 жыл бұрын
@@its_msk Family based treatment is very effective when done properly. Being in hospital or being forced to eat will only do so much for someone with anorexia. Professional help is mostly used to get the person back to a healthy heart rate (bar a few clinics around the world which are ridiculously expensive which keep patients for months at a time). I am just as concerned about her as you are but I can also see the healthy part of Elzani wants to get rid of this horrible illness and I have faith with her families support she can.
@Katie-oo2yu
@Katie-oo2yu 5 жыл бұрын
@@its_msk I also want to say that I do agree with you that professional help would be so beneficial, Im defiantly not arguing that. But currently she's home with her parents so the best thing they can do is put pressure on her to eat and she needs to listen.

Ive been watching the past few days! Your very good at these videos! At first I thought you over challanged yourself, then I noticed how happy you are. I suffered 20 years of anorexia, recovered for 1.5. I must say all the food, and weight gain, and digestion and things I worried SO MUCH about all disappeared, when I realised people would stop staring and I would get a full time job, pay my rent, taxes, afford holidays and a baby! IT was so joyous, being employed full time I realised how little other people think about food and weight, and how little people thnk about themselves!!!! I hope you can realise tht even though life after recovery isnt perfect at least its a LIFE you can be involved in, instead of being so self involved. ,............. I hope this helps....

Sending lots of love your way! Listen to your mom and dad. You have a lovely family and they are right and are doing right by you! You are such a sweet young lady and you seem so genuinely happy recently! It looks good on you! Stay positive and keep reminding yourself of all of the goodness in your life. I love seeing you smelling, enjoying and really appreciating the food you are eating. I think that is very important step for you. Yes, make those yummy foods at home too. It would be good for you. Maybe share recipe with your subs too! You are doing very good! Keep it up! You are inspiring and helping so many others too!😘❤

I'm sure your mom and dad are great, but from some things they've said it's obvious you need much more support from professionals. Parents can love and support you but you need therapy that doesn't only revolve around eating more food. So much emphasis is being put on food food food when you need therapy as well immediately

I’ve been in hospital inpatient and have tried many things, groups and dbt! I think that no one can make you choose recovery, you have to do it yourself. They can put you in hospital or inpatient and you’ll eat the meals and snacks but if you don’t want to get better, you won’t continue that way when you have control. Also it’s often hard being in such controlled conditions for so long, you need to consciously make the decision to get better or eat every time, every minute

Btw don't let what your dad said bring you down. He only says that kind of stuff because he loves you and wants the best for you. As long as you know you're doing your best to recover, it doesn't matter if it means you have to take it slower than than other people would like. As long as you know that you're pushing yourself, it doesn't matter if others don't think it's enough. It's your body and your mind, no one but you can have a true insight into that. I think you are amazing and such an inspiration and I hope you continue to get better and live a full, happy, healthy life! ❤️ 💕

Well done Elzani, you’ve done so well and I can see your family is supporting you so much but I think you might recover a lot sooner and benefit mentally if you seek more professional help, I know it may seem like you are being weak or it’s unnecessary by doing so but a therapist could really help you over come some barriers or anxiety’s you’ve developed that may be holding you back from exploring foods as well as increasing your food intake also the additional help will lift some pressure off of your family. I don’t think focusing entirely on food and only food is helping. , A therapist could uncover the origins of why you started this behaviour and give you tips on how to cope with the voice in your head telling you to not eat etc. I know it’s hard to give someone else control but I think it could be for the better in this case!

Hi Elzani. You and your whole family (doggos included) have captivated me lately. Your journey with all its ups and downs has been wonderful to watch. I don’t know too much about your history but your efforts have been nothing but commendable. You may not feel like a winner often but you are a warrior! You are trying so hard and that in itself is a hard feat. Continue to overcome obstacles regularly and the rest will fall in to place :). Best wishes to and health to you all. If you don’t already please give a gratitude diary a shot. Even just a little note to yourself at the end of the day of the things you are thankful for can try to keep some demons at bay. Keep on fighting the good fight ✌️ you got this.

It’s reassuring to know that your parents love you and would like for you to be at a healthier weight, but it’s going to take time. You are eating what you want and are trying new foods daily it seems, add in some protein and shakes here and there and you’ll be at a weight that’s suitable. I’m not exactly a dietician, I am a med student but I am unable to help with any of that due to licensure. Trust, you will be back to a normal BMI soon, it’s just going to take some time and food as well to get to that point. I’m so glad you’re making the effort to do so! We’re rooting for you Elzani!

There's so much pain in your eyes like every bite is a struggle. And you are winning. Anorexia will do it's best to make you sure that it's all in vain, it's pointless but don't listen to it. Just every moment of your life KNOW that no matter how it make you feel, it's not true. Gaining is not a bad thing, you, healthy will actually think that it is so much prettier! And this fake feeling of despair will go! It WILL vanish but you need to wait for it. A long trip but worth it. Peace inside and love 🌲🌲🌲🌲

Hi! I love your videos. Is one of your parents or family members from South Africa? Your name is very South African / Afrikaans sounding.

Yesterday my parents sent me to therapy and I’ve been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa. They are so worried about my health that they want me to be eating 2500+ calories a day. As you can imagine I’m still not very happy about that news and I burst into tears as soon as they told me. They said I could either eat or the hospital could feed me with tubes. And that’s when I was like hang on a minute, I control what I put into my body not anyone else. Please seek professional help Elzani. I’m on 11 years old xxx

have you ever thought about playing games to help you process + get out of your headspace? video games can be a very powerful medium for conveying thoughts, emotions, and shifting perspective. something like stardew valley or this? ---> store.steampowered.com/app/683320/GRIS/ could maybe help you see / feel things a bit differently or just give you some space to enjoy the simpler things in life.

Are you really not in therapy?! Your family focuses WAY too much on the food this can get catastrophic... Food is not the problem, weight is not the problem. You are not addressing the problem you are addressing symptoms. I'm sure your family's well intended but they have absolutely no idea what they are dealing with.
