Perfect! I wanted to preview its performance via wifi/iPad, and you had it covered 👍👍

Hi Sailing Stormvogel, great video, do you mind if we share it on our em-trak channel?

Hi paul Very clear. How you remove the cover to plug the usbc cable?

I am assuming that the AIS has to be installed with a power supply in order to program it? I am trying to do it on the desk with just the USB cable an nothing is happining. Can anyone confirm this? I have the em-trak B921 Class B

Hmm.....I answered my own question. I changed the serial port and it started to work. Thank you!

Moet ik even induiken. Afgelopen weekend melde een maatje dat hij mij wel zag maar niet de snelheid die ik had. 2. In de mobile app zie je of je ook uitzend. Groet Nanno.

Hi Paul, Nice video, is there a GPS in the AM track, so I can use a iPad without gps? Best regards, Martin.

Hi, it's Nanno. And Yes the AIS has a GPS build in that can be used with IPad to. If I'm correct it can be used for GPS functionality to.

Hi!! I have bought the same Em trak and I need the Host and the port number to connect it with Navionics manually? Wher did you find those numbers? Thank you!!
@SailingStormvogel23 жыл бұрын
No just connect to the WiFi of the AIS and go to Navionics app. It will appear in the list of devices you can connect. Or will already be there.

Hi Nanno, I enjoyed your video. Similar to you, I am looking for a way to show AIS data on my tablet that I use for navigation. Preferably also transmitting my own AIS signal. I don't want a second antenna or additional plotter. My VHF is an older type, with DSC / ATIS, but now internal GPS. The tablet's GPS is the only one I have. Since the EM-Trak B924 has an internal GPS, I was hoping it would be able to supply GPS via NMEA to my VHF, and possibly even GPS via Wifi to my tablet, since the tablet's GPS antenna does not have the best reception at all times. My question to you: Do you have any experience with sharing the GPS signal of the EM-Trak with other devices with use of the internal antenna? Also, how is the Navionics integration working out for you so far? I use Navionics as well, but other sailors have shared their experience with me saying the navionics AIS functionality is lacking compared to other solutions (ie no proximity /collission alerts)... Last question: when your ios device is connected to Em-trak's wifi, will it still use 4G for mobile data/internet, or do you have to disconnect from wifi to update maps/tides or send whatsapp ;-) ? Kind regards, Paul

Hi Paul, A couple of things: 1. This AIS sends and receives. 2. No experience with sharing the data in my NMEA 0183 network. 2.GPS to VHF: It depends on your VHF device plus if it is capable to do NMEA 2000 or 0183 communication. My Raymarine VHF is new and does support both networks. But has it's own internal GPS. I do not have Marcom B so DSC is disabled. And there fore GPS data will not be send on the signal. Only Atis number. And in stress I have my position on the display on the radio. 3. Internal GPS of the AIS in my Beneteau is working perfect. Good fix. 4. Yes I use one antenna. And as stated in the vlog. I have the correct voltage to support a good signal. This you will need to test. It has all to do with the signal straight true the cable. You can read the number in the config. app. 5. GPS to tablet: I need to test. This also depends on your Tablet I think. I will test this in the upcoming weeks with my Ipad Pro. 6. AIS data in Navionics is basic.But works fine for me. I can see the targets with basic info. I need to start testing with other chart apps. Hope this helps. Nanno.

Hi Paul, You've probably figured it out by now, but I was successful in sharing GPS data from my Em-Trak 954 to my VHF via NMEA 0183. Let me know if you have questions. GPS to tablet works as well. I use an iPad with iSailor.

@@KyleOlmstead Hi Kyle, I went to a dealer to ask the same question. They said sharing the data via NMEA 0183 will work via internal wifi on board. The challenge for me will be the use of the internal GPS antenna. I have a steel boat. The dealer assumes I will require an external antenna to get a signal

@@paulbijlsma Hi Paul, Not sure what "sharing the data via NMEA 0183 will work via internal WiFi" means. In my situation, my Em-Trak is "hardwired" to my VHF via NMEA 0183 (in my case the yellow, purple, and gray wires) and not WiFi dependent. Having an external GPS antenna for the EM-Trak sounds like a good idea in your case. And yes, you can still use phone data while connected to the Em-Trak.
@KyleOlmstead4 жыл бұрын
Also, it is my understanding that the Em-trak will not add all of your NMEA 0183 data to your network nor make it available on wifi. There is a chart on pages 38-39 of the Em-Trak manual. I am going to get a Yacht Devices YDNR-02 WiFi gateway for that.
