Very impressive! One question, though - wouldn't it be safer to place the pilot's seat below the plane of rotation of the blades in case one came apart?
@forschungsbuero3 жыл бұрын
That would be definetely safer. But this copter flight was a singular event.
@2manyguitars3 жыл бұрын
Sehr mutig. Könnte man den Copter nicht kleiner bauen, die Luftschrauben nach unten zeigend um die Verletzungsgefahr im Fall des Falles etwas zu minimieren?
@forschungsbuero3 жыл бұрын
Das ist nur eine Test-Plattform. Die Antriebe werden im nächsten Schritt auf ein richtiges Flugzeug gebaut. Da gibt es dann eine Sicherheitszelle, Rettungsfallschirm, etc.

This is nuts, congrats. Whats your thrust per motor?
@forschungsbuero3 жыл бұрын
Max thrust is 100 kg per motor

I hope that the motors and propellers are well tight

The frame is solid steel, no problem.

congratulations, the plane flies very nice and stable. What flight controller are you using? I'm building my own manned multicopter, but haven't decided which one to choose yet.

Those propellers look massive! What's their diameter, looks to be nearly a meter across?
@forschungsbuero3 жыл бұрын
The props are 2,25 m (88 inch) in diameter
@SolarWebsite3 жыл бұрын
@@forschungsbuero That is huge! Good for efficiency, probably?
@DanFrederiksen3 жыл бұрын
Is that a steel tube frame? what gauge steel? is it 370kg including you? is it full throttle or is there surplus? Try to understand that you will never gain high speed travel in a drone config. Instead do 2 tilt wings where the motors are on.
@roberthansen7103 жыл бұрын
370 kg take-off weight😀
@forschungsbuero3 жыл бұрын
Take-off weight is alway with pilot. Throttle was half way; so enough surplus. The next step is, to put this copter motors on the eMagic One aircraft (with wings). Videos will follow.
@forschungsbuero3 жыл бұрын
And yes, it's a steel frame, very sturdy. Weight is not an issue, because we wanted to test up to 400 kg.
@difflocktwo3 жыл бұрын
So cool seeing steel fly like that

Very nice!! But please put the seat underneath the propeller

There is not much space underneath the frame ;-)

What would happen to yourself if just one of those blades broke and just happened to come in towards you - or hit another blade "which would turn out to look like the entire StarLink system coming down" with you in the middle. I want to fly but not with16 blade tips hitting me at random times.

Ok, I agree. Copters are inefficient. But wait, when we put this motors and propellers on an aircraft with wings! That will be the eMagic eVTOL with approx. 150 km range.
