I've been skating for about 25 years now, and it's definitely taught me perseverance, especially when things are tough. I think that's why a lot of people can't agree whether it is a sport, an art, a lifestyle, etc... it's a creative outlet that teaches the individual so many life lessons. I know without skating I wouldn't be half the person I am today, and wouldn't know how to deal with obstacles like I do. It's easily one of the best things that's ever happened to me. 🙏🛹❤️

First legit deck I ever had was a Santa Cruz, back in the early 90’s. I’ve ridden so many different brands over the years, but that first Santa Cruz deck is still my favourite deck I’ve ever skated. I could just land everything on that damned thing. I had an Acme “chains” I tending to land everything on, too. But nothing like that first Santa. I can still see it. Bright red, with like a bird and a kite and some lightning. A weird sky scene battle between the animal and Mother Nature. Nostalgic rant over.

This basically describes the vibe of EVERY summer I endured as a kid. Meeting up with friends on my bike, no car, getting to spots and throwing down for hours. Whether it was skating, biking, smoking, fighting, or just sitting there waiting. I grew up in Arizona. He is talking about 90 degree temps. Imagine doing this in 110-119. P.S. : I think there was a law that in Phoenix, Arizona and other major central cities you were legally obligated to give any person water as long as they had a cup (you were not obligated to give a cup) if you were a gas station or restaurant.
