I always love to watch him fight. I remember in a interview. Floyd Mayweather said that was his most difficult opponent. The double punch still cracks me up to this day.

If Emmanuel Augustus was more focused in his career, not only would he have been the most entertaining. He would've been one of the greatest! He had amazing talent and his hand speed and agility was superb!

I actually never heard of this guy until I saw him on youtube and I am an avid boxing fan,he is indeed a good boxer it takes alot of guts to be in a fighters face with your hands down like that while your fighting him and clowning around like that.I would of loved to see him fight Pernel Whitaker, that would've been an interesting fight.

Thanks to everybody for posting your comments and support in regards to Emanuel. So far, out of every boxing forum, every televised broadcast, and every boxing article i've read, only 3 people thought El Gato deserved the win, and two of them were ringside judging the bout with their glasses off. Keep the love coming for Emanuel, and send him a message on MySpace to boost his spirits. Its us that keep his spirits high during the down times like this.

Most people think it's just clowning around, yes he's having fun in the ring, but you can see that his feet have reason and it's not just random movements. He's actually already moved before the guys even throw their punches. Keep doing your thing Augustus!

One of the best- no, I think what everybody means is most entertaining. Remember this guy was a boxer none the less but his technique left him open ALOT of times,an it shows. You just have to watch the punches he's taking not the ones he's throwing.

Man when he takes a fight seriously he can beat almost anyone. When PBF says "That man was my toughest fight. The boy is made of steel" then you know you can do something. Prob is he screws around so much and we love him for it lol!

It ain't so much that he wasn't focused, it's that he didn't have power and judges weren't feeling his schtick. They get scoring and slipping punches. What they didn't get was dancing around like you're not serious so as to create opportunities to score and slip punches. He deserved more respect than he ever got.

Song-Geto Boys-"Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta" He had 3 fights in Australia before his November fight at MSG. He had a fight in Russia before the Australia fights. Not sure for the reason but I do remember him saying once in an interview about smoking weed so maybe he doesn't want to face the commission drug tests. But that is purely speculation. Maybe he only fights in the states for big paydays anymore. I'm not sure. If he accepts my invite to be on my radio show, I will ask him.

That was against Frankie Figueroa on the Jones-Calzaghe undercard. I didn't see the fight but I heard it was a bad decision. The worst I saw was when he fought Courtney Burton in Michigan on ESPN2. Augustus EASILY won 8 of the 10 rounds, yet one judge had him losing 99-90. Teddy Atlas was so infuriated with the decision he was screaming at the commissioner. Augustus got his revenge for that fight KO'ing Burton in the rematch.

Emanuel Augustus was a great charismatic fighter. His losses were accumulated over a course of time due to his lack of a amateur career. I feel as if he had the same career as a amy he easy would be definitely listed among the elite, maybe even hall of fame fighters. But some people aren't granted the opportunity fight amy. And with the cards he was dealt he was a great fighter
@jimmyle754310 жыл бұрын
nah he had those losses because he fought the best anytime anywhere and unfortunately wasnt prepared for some

i would love to see augustus fight in england or europe in general. i hink the germans would fucking love this guy. i remember watching him on the jones jr/calzaghe undercard and he won that fight. the judges robbed him again. keep the faith emmanuel, you'll get your shot.

There is a state of mind called Flow State. When mind is clear, focused and calm. The person is pure reaction. The Emperor himself Fedor Emilaninko(butchered that) and the GOAT of running backs Barry Sanders are prime examples. Peripheral vision, spatial understanding and recognition, speed.. all enhanced. Emanuel Augustus seems to be ready to flow in any round. He enjoys his work and only becomes a dangerous fighter when he’s angry. When he’s being disrespected as a professional by his peer across from him or a biased ref and/or judges. What happened to him and The late great Marvelous One are not only travesties, but also outrageously shameful.

People felt that if he didnt like to have so much fun and took it a bit more seriously this guy would have been a champ many times over, but then he wouldnt be Augustus then either lol! I think the dude is a fucking gem man.
