Wladimir Klitschko was great too. When he had his run and was on top of his game he was a beast. And he was a great sportsman and a great role model. I’m glad Stewart mentioned Foreman because he (Foreman) has never gotten received the due credit he truly deserves. Unbelievable punching power, could also take a punch-as he proved during his fights with Evander Holyfield and Ron Lyle. Granted, his style wasn’t pretty (Ali nicknamed him “the mummy”) but he got the job done. Bottom line: 76-5 record during the Golden Age of boxing and then regaining the heavyweight title at 45 years of age, says all you need to know about this guy.🥊

@TheMaster47x 4 жыл бұрын
El Pueblo Unido Fury is good, but who’s he actually fought? A 39 year old Klitschko, who even on his best day I would expect would get sparked by Foreman, or Wilder? I mean Wilder compared to Foreman, really? After those two we’re looking at Chisoras and Hammers, who really are not worth mentioning in the same breath as Foreman. This is a guy that carries ridiculous power in every punch and has a very good chin, his boxing ability isn’t the best, but compared to some of the heavyweights today, he’d probs be one of the best technical boxers out there.
@maiorino92
@maiorino92 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheMaster47x of course Foreman fought better fighters, I say that Tyson would beat him due to size. The size difference between old heavyweights and new ones is abnormal. Foreman was 191 cms tall, 220 lbs when he fought Ali, Tyson is 206 cms tall, 270+ libs of meat that can bring the fight to you or outboxe you from the distance. Size matters man. Plus I dont accept the 39 years old speculation about the fight with Big Klit. Klit was undefeated in the last 11 YEARS!! ELEVEN! And Tyson outoboxed him in his home, so he deserve big credit for that. And he deserve big credit for beating Wilder AT HIS OWN GAME in his home too! So those 2 are already 2 career defining wins, Tyson is just unlucky that he don't live in the Ali era. He would outsize em all for me

Hey, I'm the biggest Mike Tyson fan out there but he converted to Muslim while in prison and I believe that because of that choice, he will be in Hell too. I don't wish Hell on my worst enemy. I think if it is indeed real, which I believe it is, it's the most over the top thing in the universe and I totally disagree with God about sending anybody there. Emanuel Stewart is GOAT when it comes to Boxing Trainers. And very astute at identifying talent and ability. He has an amazing championship fight record as trainer - I think he was 9-0 in Heavyweight championship fights. That is some record. He was not much of a talker but whatever he said came true. He predicted Fury and Wilder would be world champs way before we even knew who these two were - He could foresee things in Boxing. There have been other great trainers - Some old wise heads. But for training and preparing a Boxer to win championship fights, no one else even comes close. Emanuel Stewart is to Boxing Trainers what Ali is to Boxers! RIP

1) It's a joke that you put Marciano on the list at all, let alone put him above Tyson. 2) There are several of other fighters that deserve to make this list, like Vitali Klitschko and Sonny Liston. 3) The modern era is not "piss poor". The heavyweight division reached its peak level of competition during the late 2000s, and it's currently still close to that peak. People only diss the modern heavyweight era because they think the Klitschkos are boring. Fact of the matter is, even Wilder, Povetkin, and Fury would knock a prime Joe Louis flat on his back with ease; same could be said for Jack Johnson as well. The general rule of boxing is that it gets more competitive as time goes on, as nutrition and science improve. The average heavyweight nowadays is far bigger, stronger, and more athletic than heavyweights of 40 years ago. Sometimes, an era might weaken slightly. The 50s were weaker than the 40s. The early 80s were weaker than the mid 70s. The 2010s are slightly weaker than the late 2000s (strongest era). However, the general trend over time is that the sport gets more competitive. The athletes get better, that's just how it is. 4) You mention Wladimir's size advantage as though that discredits his accomplishments. I hate to break it to you, but this is the heavyweight division. It's impressive if a small heavyweight can be dominant, but if he gets beaten by a big heavyweight, the big heavyweight is a better boxer. Skill is a factor that affects your ability to win. Chin is a factor that affects your ability to win. Size is also a factor that affects your ability to win. Wladimir is big, but why does that matter? That's just part of who he is as a boxer. Him being big doesn't make his accomplishments any less than that of smaller boxers. 5) Frazier shouldn't be above Tyson. Tyson was not only a far better fighter in his prime, but he accomplished more than Frazier. Frazier was a great fighter, but he was even worse than Tyson at handling boxers with a big reach advantage.

First of no hate. Just wanting to add my bit to this discussion. I personally think Wladimir should be further up the list. Not only does he have the same amount of title defence win as Joe Louis(soon to overtake him with next fight), but can you seriously say Wladimir would struggle with any of Joe Louis opponents? If so which ones?

Gerop Completely agree with you. Heavyweight boxing is probably at the best ever. It is a far more international sport now that all of Europe is allowed to take part. The level of completion is far superior. I think the next defer years are going to be very exciting. You have Wilder on the rise, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. I'm hoping a middle aged Wladimir beats them, because he deserves the respect it would bring him, and in all fairness make him the best boxer of all time.

Vitali struggled with in-fighters, he just handled it better than Wlad during his own reign. He probably would have gotten beat by a prime Tyson, Frazier and likely young (and maybe old) Foreman. Ali would have outworked him and had a good enough chin to take anything he had, easy as well as be too fast. David Tua would have been interesting, but because he was stunted in his growth as a fighter (should have gotten a new trainer) Vitali likely would have beat him by decision so long as he kept Tua back with his longer reach. I'd give Tyson Fury a solid chance now that his power has improved, but it would be a tough fight.

I totally agree upon your estimation.Vitali was clearly the best of the two Klitschko brothers with a 43-2 record with those two losses coming one by a stoppage due to a cut(lewis fight) and against Chris Byrd due to shoulder injury.In BOTH these fights he was ahead on points.So,we can make an argument for Vitali Klitschko being the best ever.I have him in my top 3 and i put Louis as number 1 out of accomplishments and respect,but he would never beat Vitali,not because he hasn't beat other big sized fighters,but because none of them was so coordinated and technical.Louis at 6'1" and 196 pounds in his prime,wouldn't stand a chance against granite chinned Vitali at 6'7" and 250+ pounds let's be real.Lennox Lewis is also very underrated.In his prime he had it all.Size,power,technique,e.t.c.At 6'5" and 245 at his best you have to acknowledge him at the very best ever.I believe that the fight that took place in 2003 between Vitali and Lennox as long as it lasted it may very well be the best fight ever between two fighters among the greatest ever IF NOT THE TWO ABSOLUT BEST IN THE SPORT OF BOXING

@Dion Fowlkes It's not about 'we'll see.' That's not a counter argument. Fact is Tyson was robbed. There is a unanimous opinion among top trainers and boxing experts that feel that Fury won that fight. However boxing in USA will always be biased towards American fighters. That is just business. But the public have been so accustomed to fights in USA that people believe that fighting in USA is a neutral ground, which it ain't. We all know the rematch should take place in the UK. That would give Fury a chance to have home ground advantage, but because of money, the fight will happen in USA again and Wilder will have the upper hand yet again.

Nobody in my top all time list went their entire career without beating even one great prime opponent, not once got up or came from behind to win, not once changed a game plan when called for, didn’t throw the same combo over and over, never once quit on their stool again a terrible opponent! Mike appeals to people because of his style, his demeanour, his power and speed, his attitude, etc etc, but none of that ranks him above fighters who were both better than him, and had much better careers against much better opposition. I imagine Holyfield gets an honorable mention, and plenty of love (from any true fans of boxing) But for his record, he can't be mentioned amongst the best, it doesn't stop him from getting plaudits though

Klitschko 8?? Chating rubbish.. first of all marciano was #1 you can support ali as you said black race yes but ali lost 6 times and was a dirty mouth sportsman.. vitali was not 8.. vitali was the only boxer he was never knocked out ..he lost 2 fights doctor stoppage we all seen he beat Lewis and Lewis quit because of vitali.. but africans and media can name whoever they like nobody cares what africans think.

Servant to Be so you mean the man with 5 loses should be #1?? And he lost on his prime!!! Well that’s your opinion other opinions are different .. if you ask USA and Africans they would say even now is wilder or Joshua #1 but the fact is Tyson fury ..

Vitali Klitschko might just be the best Heavyweight Champion if all time. 2nd Highest %KO (Power) & it could of been better than Wilder’s if in some fights he wasn’t too nice & Wilder didn’t fight mostly Bums. Vitali’s Iron Chin, never been knocked down, let alone knocked out. Even with Lennox Lewis’ best shots, with a cut eye lid that he gave him while holding through a cheap punch did Vitali wobble like Lewis did when Vitali hit him. Vitali is my number 1. The Media doesn’t cover White Boxers ir Athletes the same, it’s call part of the Kalergi Plan. It’s a Conspiracy against Caucasians. That’s why White Countries are being filled with other type of immigrants like crazy. Low-birth rates isn’t a coincidence in Europe, it was planned.

Funny thing about Ali is that he is part white, his great grandfather was Irish. He use to visit Ireland for that reason, called it one of his mother lands.

Fury will wind up somewhere in the top five depending on the outcome of his next three fights. It's hard to believe someone like Larry Homes could beat Tyson Fury. Actually it's hard seeing anyone beating him, but fights are hard to predict between fighters of different eras. Emanuel was a truly great man and greatly missed in the world of boxing. He's actually done more for the sport than most of the fighter on his list of ATG's.

lol top 5? Beyond Wilder and Klitschko, who of relevance has he beat? I personally think Fury is a much better Fighter than AJ, and I don't consider AJ's record spectacular, but excluding Wilder, AJ has a much better resume than Fury. So I wouldn't put Fury above greats that have rocked multiple hall-of-fame-worthy opponents. Top 5 is just a reach. Off the top of my head I can name more than 5 people with better resumes. Ali, Foreman, Holifield, Lennox, Marciano, Frazier, Vitali, Riddick Bowe, Holmes..... could go on and on. Stop reaching!

@Your Neighbor Time always sorts it all out. Another 5 or ten years may add or subtract from the top five . We shall see what happens in the future. it's all pretty much subjective anyway... like the judges scores

Jak dla mnie Władymir jak i Vitali mogliby znajdować się w okolicach 10 miejsca "ciężkich" wszechczasów. Mój ranking: 1. Ali. 2. Louis. 3. Johnson. 4. Foreman. 5. Tyson. 6. Marciano. 7. Lewis. 8. Frazier. 9. Holyfield. 10. Bracia Klitschko.

+Hastein45 Tyson is 5 but only in his prime. Probably at 9 can be Liston, Lyle, Shavers and then Klitscho's brothers have to going out of the list.

+dziqu There is no doubt that Tyson looked very good in his prime, but who did he beat that should earn him that spot? And Lyle and Shavers belong nowhere near the top-10.

@moz_boxing what are you talking about? Lewis fought and beat Tyson, Bowe would rather throw his belt in the trash than fight Lewis. Holyfield beat Tyson twice and Bowe once. The others are speculation of course, but you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

How can anyone be over Klitschko when he's the longest reigning heavyweight champion ever especially when you consider Joe Louis was in the Army for 4 years of his championship reign.They hate on Klitschko and Marciano because they are white and you fucking know it.

@@khabibistheking7686 ummm who did Klitschko beat? How long you reign means nothing if you only beat garbage men. Old Lennox beat prime Vitali, how can anyone even put him above prime Lennox? Nothing to do with race. Tyson also gets similar treatment (even if he's my personal top 2 favorites)
