Vitali was the better of the two brothers and would have been a difficult opponent for any heavyweight in any era. He really was a top notch performer. Sanders gave him the toughest fight of his career but ultimately Vitali prevailed. RIP Corrie Sanders (1966-2012).

We brought Briggs into the UKE Hospital in Hamburg. His shoulders were so huge, that he didn't fit into the brain scanner. For a week he was the star of the hospital, giving press conferences out of his bed and giving comments on social media while being transported in bed to the x-ray including all of his gangsta-style collegues. A dream fight in which Tyson Fury had no chance to win. Vitaly had a granite chin and had not even been knocked down in his entire career. He kicked like a horse and had excellent reflexes and boxing intelligence. And Tyson Fury, as it turned out in May, can lose. And this is probably the best heavyweight in history. It's just that he is from Ukraine, not from Great Britain or the USA, so he had to gain fame in the ring with his own fists, and not with the help of a PR manager.

V. Klitschko-L. Lewis was the first fight I watched in my life out of my own will, i.e. not cause my dad or friends wanted to see it. I was 12. It was like watching two bears fight, in the best possible way. What a pair of legends

Great first fight to open anyone's eyes to boxing. Unfortunately the first fight I ever watched on my own was Benn vs McKellen.....😢 still arguably the most brutal fight of the modern era, i been balls deep in the sport ever since......God bless the G Man ❤

Old Lewis was the fantastic fighter and gave good fight with Vitali, but wound on face Lewis done deliberate by scraping Vitali's face by gloves and elbows in clinches thus making that wound, which he exploited by few punches later widening that wound, but he hadn't anything serious in pure boxing which gave him chance to beat Klitschko. He was a real champion who found how to win a fight which he hadn't any chance to win. Then it was known that Lewis must decide the fight in the first five rounds because Vitali was always better after sixth, and it was particularly in this fight with old Lewis, the fight was stopped exactly when Lewis was completely exhausted.

Lewis levou uma surra e não caiu devido ao condicionamento e experiência. Klitschko foi vencido pelo corte, e quando a luta parou fisicamente estava inteiro ainda. E o que Lewis queria era que a luta fosse encerrada o mais rápido mesmo porque já não teria forças pra derrubar Klitschko a partir do 7° round. A maioria de seus punch's foram lançados e gastos no vazio. Gastou toda a sua força com dois upercut's e dois diretos fortíssimos e não fez Klitschko cambalear, enquanto ele cambaleou várias vezes.

Stop - please STOP - talking about the "brothers". There is NO comparison between the two. Vitali has suffered, forever, in his younger brother's shadow - who was nowhere NEAR his older brother's class. Not even close! Vitali is - literally - the soft-spoken, superior competitor who sits in the shadows, as most of the uniformed fans had/have NO IDEA there was a Vitali and a Wladimir. To put it in simple, high-school terminology, for the perpetually misiinformed, Vitali was the CLASS, and WLAD was the IMAGE. Wladimir was no slouch in the HW division, but he couldn't hold a CANDLE to his older brother, who most uninformed boxing fans thought were the same people. Vitali would have DESTROYED his younger brother, easily. They agreed to never fight, which only hurt ONE of the brothers - Vitali. Not one fighter ever put Vitali down - not once. He was never behind on the score-cards, not ONCE. If you walked into a Sports Bar today and said "what do you think of that fighter, Klitschko?" They would tell you some story about Wlad, from a fight they can barely remember - in a SPORTS BAR!

I know this is about vtali but people forget Lewis was losing only by a bit but if you watch the whole fight you can see klichko had nothing left but Lewis even though tired has well was punching hard still and klitchko was spent.

I'd say they were both tired AF but Vitali would likely have continued to grow into the fight the longer it went on. Says it all that he was ahead on all the judges' scorecards. Would've (should've) won the fight, same likely goes for the rematch if that had occurred.

Both were still punching hard. I agree with u that lewis was punching harder but one thing u need to know is that vitali would have still taken the punches whilst delivering more punches than lewis. So if the fight carried on lewis would be on the floor , delivering stronger punches mean gas out faster. Vitali know how to spread it longer, smarter fighter. Lewis punches were in small burst.
