I saw Guthrie play recently at a local bar restaurant in Nashville holds maybe 50 people called “ Kitchen Downtown “ the base player owns it. I sat 10’ in front of Guthrie and he played a blues solo for 4 minutes that literally blew my mind. His Instagram page is not only informative and fun. At bye end of set I introduced myself - and he gave me a list of cool places to go. His Trio is killer. Love his song “ Cows on a Buffalo” on his album - that’s mind bending guitar playing . Take care Emmanuel - I’ll be checking in from time to time . I’m originally from NY. Later.

Love the way you describe the journey from one scale to another using the relationships of the chords. Very musical. Gonna watch this lesson a few times!

...and what do you think of using the d-minor scale over Dm7-arp, the G-major scale over the G7-arp and the C-major scale over Cmaj7- arp? And (maybe even better) mixing this method with using the C-major scale?
@EmanuelHedberg3 жыл бұрын
@@thomaspettersson9723 Hi and thanks! Regarding your question, it does not really make sense to use the other scales you mentioned for those chords. The Dm7 chord and G7 and Cmaj7 chord all come from the same scale. So the C major scale is the "right scale to play" To play the D natural minor scale over Dm7 would sound really awful in my opinion, since the next chord is G7. And to play the major scale over G7 would also sound totally wrong since G7 has a minor 7th (b7) and the G major scale has a major 7th (7). Hope that helps :)

You must know Yaki Raw and play with her! She is from Sweden also. She is a reggae composer and singer, google her 😉 Both together can be 🔥🔥🔥

Hey- good texting with you man. Sorry about the “caged” comment I really didn’t know - thank you for correcting me I appreciate that. I’m actually now trying to learn your version of “Hey Joe” off Instagram. Love it. Take care.

Don't feel bad about that :) No worries. It was just your opinion and mine. I'm actually editing a lesson now about the CAGED system. Will post it on my Patreon Page in a few days :) Cheers!

Man kan ju plocka ut det från proffs skivor, där dom spelar jazz ,,,dom bästa musiker tar ut det med gehör, men lite kunskap skadar ej...
