Why? It's also denial. He just exhibits it in a different way. He doesn't want to believe his business is as bad as they say it is. If he did, he would have done something about it long before Gordon got there. There wouldn't have been an episode about him at all, if he wasn't in some kind of denial. He's not actively going around saying everyone is wrong and he's kind to people, but he's also not listening to them about what needs to be done to improve his business. So he's either lazy (which I personally don't get the impression that he is, tbh) or he doesn't think it's as bad as everyone says it is and he can make it work 'somehow'. Which is deep denial. Don't fool yourself. This guy is definitely in denial. He's just not vindictive about it.

It's family, man. You do more for family. You want to believe in them. You want them to succeed. It's like Gordon said: 'If he wasn't your fucking brother' and then he leaves the rest unspoken, which is: 'you would have never got away with this shitty business'. I'd be a lot more willing to give my brother a large sum of money for something I was dubious about, simply because he's my brother. We go back all the way to our earliest memories. We've shared 20 years of our lives together. So you wanna help them, any way you can, even if you're not convinced it's a good idea. You want to have faith in them that they will succeed.

When asked about it most recently he said something along the lines of not wanting to release it because it could "ruin some peoples lives". So no, he has not promised he would release it. Idk where you hear this nonsense, but I literally watch a huge portion of Trump interviews, speeches, rallies, etc etc etc, and he hasn't ever promised he would release the list. He has only said that he wouldn't release it because it will ruin some peoples lives.
