Thanks for all of the insight and ideas you share. I have three friends who are also scrapbookers, they also watch your videos. So often we refer to things you have said and done. You are mildly famous in our group almost like our mentor. Every Wednesday we scrapbook together over Zoom. Just last night Laurie had a problem with a photo she didn't want to crop but there was an unsightly garbage can in the corner of the photo. She didn't know what to do. Then I said, "Do an Erin. Put an embellishment cluster in that corner with some overlapping the photo to cover the garbage can. 'Doing an Erin' is now a phrase with our group. Thank you so much. :) Pattie T.

Thank you for the way you demonstrated how the page would look each time you placed the photos & yes, you were right & it showed immediately as it totally looked wrong especially the first one as it made the page look like a left sided page put in the album incorrectly & so my eye was being drawn off the page away from the photos!! However, I did think that had your family photo been slightly larger & placed on its own at the bottom it would have looked even better with the flower moved just a little more to the right than where it was. [Just how my eye saw the page & naturally wanted that family photo a wee bit larger. ] However, I loved the final finish & can now see where I have been going wrong with my pages - it is in my embellishments or lack thereof that is more the point, as I have never been comfortable in knowing what to embellish with or how, so have not!!

That is a great suggestion! I printed my photos before I had a game plan and wasn’t sure what I was going to create. You are right though and I think that would have looked great with a larger family photo.

Hi Darlene, they are Versamats from Close To My Heart. They are really handy, the other side of the mat makes a great surface beneath your paper for stamping. You can find them in my online shop erinjacobson.closetomyheart.com/retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=3385

Love this layout. Does anyone know exactly what those layout mats are called so I can buy some. Im in the UK and havent been able to find anything even similar by Googling. Help would really be appreciated as theyre a godsend for double page layouts.

Thank you! The ones I use are VersaMat and they are a Close To My Heart exclusive product. Unfortunately Close To My Heart is only US, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Australia so far. Other companies do make glass media mats with the grid lines. Tim Holtz has one. I would google craft mat or media mat. Good luck, they are a very useful tool!
