Funny how Zhao wanted to be remembered for generations, so he destroyed the moon, but even in less than a year a play about the Avatar made in Fire Nation doesnt have him as a character, and instead "the Blue Spirit" saves Aang from Zuko lol

They somehow made a recap episode with a lower budget and still incorporated it seamlessly within the story and it also has proper worldbuilding. Sure it’s unrealistic to think some rando had information about the most intimate moments of the Gaang but it makes sense why Toph is a giant buff dude for example. Who would admit they where beaten by a blind 12 year old. Also painting Zuko and Iroh as idiot doofuses due to them being defected royalty.

Very unique for a recap episode, one I haven't seen done before ATLA. Also, unlike most recaps (which are often low budget), this one featured unique locations & characters, all of which required extensive effort to make. Fun facts: *Stage Toph being male is what Toph was originally gonna be before it got changed. *Stage Zuko is voiced by Derek Basco, brother of Zuko VA Dante Basco, while Stage Yue is voiced by Suki VA Jennie Kwan and Stage Sokka by Teen Titans Robin (Scott Menville). *The comment about Stage Jet's death being unclear is a reference to how Jet's fate was ambiguous (he did die). *During Stage Aangs Moon spirit rampage she can be seen holding a Zhao doll. Speaking of which during the scene where Aang is captured Zhao is replaced by Zuko. In the play both Zuko and the Blue Spirit are considered different people, most likely because no one in the Fire Nation other than Zhao and Iroh knew both were the same person.

My main defense of Katara and Aang in this episode is due to the fact that Katara said she was confused, not that she didn't like Aang that way. She likely does, but they're in the middle of a war and they could die at any time. Plus, the play itself gave Zuko + Katara fanservice up the wazoo when very little moments of them being romantic ever happened. Believe me when I tell you the shipping wars were heating up back when this episode first aired.

It is a little contrived but it is somewhat fun to speculate who he must have interviewed. I would put someone from Jets group and Azula on that list. Although he could have had a talk with May or Thai Li in prison. Also Prisoners of war could include Hakoda. And he could know pretty much everything from the first 2 books. Although that would be third hand and it is questionable how much he would be willing to share.

Lol I know the Katara falling for Zuko is a joke but I never understood why people thought she liked Zuko. She’s never showed any romantic interest in Zuko, they just shared a moment in the cave because Katara probably felt empathy for Zukos past. I think the real reason she was “confused” was because after Aang died, it was probably an extremely traumatic thing watching a boy she loved romantically die in front of her eyes. She was probably thinking “can I be in a romantic relationship with the avatar who at any day can die trying to keep peace and save the world?” Must be a heavy burden to carry as the wife of the avatar.

She's still a child and Aang was the first "non water tribe" boy she interacted with. We cant realistically expect her to have a strong grasp of her emotions, even after experiences like Jet.

@@NinjaKumaReacts I would not say that at all. Karara grew up in war. She walked into her moms dead corpse as a child in her own home. She knows the war and losses, I think she is well enough aware to understand being with Aang could result in the same feeling she experienced losing her mother. I think the idea that Katara is trying to choose between Zuko or Aang is way out of character, she isn’t that shallow and she has never showed any romantic interest in Zuko. The only person besides Aang she’s ever been romantically interested in is Jet.

It has been one episode since Katara forgave Zuko for betraying them at the end of season 2. She has shown no romantic interest in anyone save her blush when Aang kissed her. Zuko has feelings for Mai. Mai loves Zuko. Why do people ship Zuko and Katara? It makes no sense!

I'd argue the moment in S2 when she had at that brotherzoned Aang, and she saw Zuko not as an enemy from the Fire Nation but rather another kid who suffered and still carries that weight from the past. It's moreso I didn't see her clicking with Aang at that point since she was always looking at 'bad boys' and Aang is the polar opposite.

@@NinjaKumaReacts You mean the season 2 finale. I'd say that moment was intimate but not romantic. And the only bad boy she was attracted to was Jet, and that was half way season 1. She matured a lot since then, so I argue that falling for bad boys isn't a constant for her. I'd agree she hardly started considering Aang until season 3 ep 2, but the poor girl never showed anything for Zuko and you act like she's lusting after him every time she opens her mouth 🤣

I.... I got nothing. But trial 4 broke me... I stopped seeing her as a warrior and saw her as a girl, with the same feelings, uncertainties and anxieties as any other girl. Still kills me to this day.
