Love your videos, man! Wanted to get into learning Unreal for Virtual Production after watching a bunch of Corridor and Clint Jones channel, and well, the algorithm brought me here! Can't wait to learn more from your videos, man!

Dallas, I love the mood of the scene. I’d like to see a tutorial on how to make this kind of lighting and the key points such as exposure, why sometimes our scenes flicker if we have a poor lighting, etc. Great vid btw!🔝

Putting the step size to 0.5 really turned my scene into a slideshow :) So it looks like i will stick up to 2. But besides that I really love how that looks. Great and educative video

Hey. When I import, my VDB's are always black, with no color and no emissive/flame. Any idea?

Hey Dallas, I’m a big fan of your Unreal Engine tutorials-your content has been super helpful! I was wondering if you could share the specs of the PC you’re using for your projects and tutorials. I’m looking to upgrade mine for Unreal Engine work and would love to know what hardware you'd recommend. Thanks!

You had made your latest video, the Landscape Material video Child proof. By doing this it can't be added to playlists or commented on =( any chance you could change this please?

When I click track on the sequencer there’s no option for vdb. Is there anything I can do? Thank you.

Thanks for the great video! Is Niagara in Unreal Engine 5 not good enough for virtual production?
@DallasDrap Жыл бұрын
No no Niagara is still great! And in most cases you’re probably still going to use Niagara due to performance with using this technique, so Niagara isn’t going anywhere :)

Hi dallas, do you know a correct way to export a particle emitter simulation to ue5? I'm trying for hours but every time ue5 doesn't accept the abc, and if i try the vdb export is empty. Do you know how help me?

VDB rendering in UE5 still needs alot of work. Embergen renders particles really nice.

I have so many damn issues with VDBs in Sparse Volumetrics idk where to even begin. I get its largely experimental but with yours and every single KZbin video I watch on it you have to do some very different things to get anything to even show up. I think it is like 80% dependent on scale size which affects everything else. I have to pump my density up an ungodly amount to 2000 to get anything to look "good", the sequencer absolutely needs the flames VDB sequence not just density otherwise flames don't show up (skipped in most tutorials), blackbody intensity also cranked way too high like 400 to get a hot center in flame and yellow, and then higher temperature setting in general. But by the time it's all said and done, I have lost so much detail and gradient subtlety compared to how sexy the original Embergen sim was I don't think its even worth it. Maybe in 5.3 since UE revamped VDBs supposedly, but just not worth it otherwise.
