As a commuter I've found a full face helmet a must.... Being side swiped was not fun, even at 30 k's an hour. If not for that helmet I'd have ended up with a broken jaw hitting the pavement....

You've made so much more confident with my new venture with the E BIKE. I say your tutorial should be compulsory to the E bike industry. Thanks for the info as a man of the seventies I am glad for your knowledge, as you explain, things are different from the 70s and 80s 😁

Great video - I wish there was a little more on saddle height and positioning and dropper setup. That jacket you were wearing looks very nice - I guess it's for staff-only as it's not on your shop!
@davelloyd84543 жыл бұрын
Good stuff except for the reach adjustment by saddle forward / backward adjustment. Reach can be adjusted in many ways but the saddle is not one of them as incorrect saddle position can cause knee problems. Use stem length (within reason), bar width and stem spacers for reach feel.

Would be an interesting survey to see what percentage of EMBN audience actually has emtb. I would not be surprised if those that have it are actually well below 50% :) There's probably many people here who are interested in e-bikes but can't afford them at the moment. Thankfully after 2 years of waiting I'm getting mine soon! But anyway, that's all cycling/biking, we are one diverse family with the same root, I follow GCN and I'm not a road cyclist and don't even have road bike, and I watched Tour de France and Giro d'Italia since my childhood

I'm getting older (50). I am in the market for new bike ( canyon spectral cf8). Yet I've started watching and I'm now thinking ebike ! My only concerns are : they seem to be advancing week by week and would buying one now mean it would be out date in six months ? And my riding friends are on normal bikes. Um.
@gabriels11635 жыл бұрын
The ebike laws are so restrictive that there are barely any advancements being made that make a difference to the average rider. Buying last years model ebike is a great way to save a few thousand without a major difference in performance.

@@Falconer710 awesome brother, swapped mine for a levo comp cos the salesman told me the hardtail had 75nm of torque which it doesn't. I found this out after putting 300miles on it. The manager was cool and gave me a great trade in deal. If I still had the hardtail id probably have changed the entire groupet, gears, brakes etc., and some midrange rockshox forks 120mm travel. Could have done it for £750 ish ish. Enjoy it man, ebikes are great fun

@@Falconer710 oh how i long for a trail that'll definitely have me packing spare undies! Not too many decents near me. Haven't got a driving licence, medically handed it in, I was blacking out so ended up with a heart monitor. Not a pacemaker, just a monitor. Still I'd rather keep EVERYONE else safe. My local bike park is about 15 miles away, not the best, but better than anything I've ridden yet. I'll have to arrange a lift out there. Don't want to arrive knackered, and i don't fancy peddling home with no battery. 👍 Glad you're having fun, but be careful. I don't know how old you are, but i don't bounce like i used to 25 years ago.

Although it's an old vid, I had to comment on advice given regarding buying clothing made for cycling. Problem with that, which I find annoying, they only make cycling clothing for "Skinnies" usually up to 2xl and maybe on a few 3xl

What does he mean "if you have less than 20 miles range, you need to be finishing that ride in 20 miles"? Does the e bike not pedal without battery assistance?
@vashon1007 ай бұрын
You can pedal without power, but with wide tires and heavy bike, it will be tough on climbs.
