Chris is probably the bock to Cadence ,power out of light weight ebike.

I don’t have an Ebike. I’m just too poor. It looks quite fun though. Chris is an amazing rider! Would love to have half his skill set!

I wasted my hard earned £5500 on an ebike before realising this is lots crap! Now I invested £1000 on a Bafang bbshd m635 with cadence & torque sensor I am so happy I'd never ever fall for a bill crap again by a few calling themselves pros that like teaching people how to change a bicycle wheels & bleed brakes 😂

Currently running a 2 leg power motor. The only issue is that being nearly 50 years old. It's a pig to get going in the winter. 😊

Great to see the e-bike discussion expanding beyond metrics! There are too many people sat around discussing power, torque and battery size, and ignoring the most important thing….how the bikes actually ride! Love this, Martin and Chris are both amazing.

Appreciate it guys. Means a lot xx

Agreed - great video - insightful way to highlight the on trail differences between the two - and as Chris say not that ones better than the other - they're different bikes - Great stuff! Cheers Owen

Options are always welcome! Personally I prefer full power bikes, and usually set on ECO and Tour+ with torque settings on the low side. eBike and Turbo for those Nasty parts, or for that "just one more descent" parts. 😉

So impressed you bunny hopped that heavy e-bike. The technicals too. You guys should do a show on just doing this talent .🤘

Loved to see some accountability brought into the test, much more interesting than watching riders tell what they "think" of a bike, like we see on 99% of the tests. Congrats! Please keep on bringing this kind of content.

Thanks Francis, I also thought it was excellent

Well I have a specialised sl my skill level is nowhere near that of Chris possibly I would struggle in all what he just did, I’m more of a trail rider, it’s just great to see how far e-bikes have come I love em , great vid 👍🏻

Most full power e-bikes are quite a bit lighter than the 27kg Whyte these days, I mean a Levo Gen 3 is 21kg, Strive:ON at 23kg and many more.

Can you please do a EDR stage compare. Both a regular gravity focused and also the power stage. Grab one of your bike sponsors and grab their E-EDR pro rider to do a back to back again
@Nomads_RowingАй бұрын
Well, despite all the tests Mr Jones has conjured up these last few years, Martyn and his young assistant Chris, put together an impressive comparison between the two - again, no clear winner but there never will be as they attack the same challenges from different angles. I couldn’t afford a mid power at the time but the full power Brose is more than ample when running in Eco - only tired legs at the end of a long ride or a very steep accent requires the Tour (never needed the Turbo!😎

Now this was something different and really interesting! Can't wait to actually see, what Chris can do with a lighter weight e-bike. Always inspiring to see, what the magician can do. Especially the wheelie turn with E-lyte on top of the climb was beautiful and gives some hints, how his body works when doing that Akrigg trademark move. More content like this, please!

Am riding trek rail 9 with full power Bosch 85N, all I can say is am so enjoying it in the trails specially climbing the toughest hills 😊, not sure I will enjoy the 50N power after getting used to the full power, but perhaps if I bought it first, thanks for the great video
@ianfurqueron5850Ай бұрын
Fun video. When I first started shopping for an e-bike some months ago, I was fully convinced that I wanted one of the lighter options, thinking a 50+ lbs. bike would bother me. But then I rode a friend's full power bike and was surprised to find the weight didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. I have ridden a "mid-power" bike quite a bit - a Cannondale Moterra SL - and it was definitely a bike I wouldn't have been disappointed with (and might still buy if the demo I rode becomes available). But I did end up buying a full power bike in the end: a 2024 Heckler (partly because I also own a Megatower and they have a familiar ride feel). One of my e-biking friends joked, "to own one e-bike is to own more than one - since one of them will probably be broken at any given time...."

I have two full power bikes. Ep8 husky, rocky mountain 4.0dyna. 🎉 Happy Trails
@solferinomichelotti2985Ай бұрын
Wat's the difference between ep8 and Dyname according to you?
@Mtb9rАй бұрын
@@solferinomichelotti2985 I have been riding the EP8 for two years and have figured out how to stay out of the surging feeling at cut off. which I. My ep8 is non-Bluetooth compliance so no adjustment and 3 modes the dyna has 4 modes and has Bluetooth ability. It climbs quickly if the rider can keep up. They both have about the same range and I feel the EP8 surges more at its cut off limit than the Dayna. Both are a blast 💥
@solferinomichelotti2985Ай бұрын
@@Mtb9r I had bosch 4th in my previous trek rail 5 and I felt bosch very explosive in turbo instead of our dyname4.0 that is quite in ludicrous for me. Maybe next year come back to bosch with cube, tk you bye
@Mtb9rАй бұрын
As for ride ability ep8 on my Husqvrna works pretty well and for the most part controllable. My Rocky is new to me and I haven’t had a lot of time to play yet. It feels pretty good. I’ll throw it out there this weekend and compare. Happy Trails

Low power and low weight we will be faster on a flow trail as you'll be above the limiter all the time! I say it all the time. Certain trails I'm faster on a pedal bike than a 25kg ebike

Ive got a Santacruz Superlight with a unrestriced cyc photon on it weighs 20kgs has 750w and 110nm which it will output all day long or for 30 miles on one charge. Has the ability to max out upto 2000w for short bursts of time better than any new 10k bike 😊❤

No, low power motors are definitely slower, not faster. It’s common sense people. Low power e-bikes are useless.
