Hello and welcome to another episode of the podcast «The breathing body». My name is Flurina and I am your host - and I am so happy that you are here.
The body is a process and not an object, not a thing - we can't learn about it, but only experience and live through it - experiencing a living process. And this is what it means to engage the movement of life. This is embodiment …
… Embodiment, Self-care and Healing - we talked about all of that and so much more, explored wonderful, nurturing and inspirational insights and ideas - and equally will leave you with ongoing questions - which's reflection upon is equally nurturing too.
Let me further introduce this episode by telling you about my guest, Bonnie Gintis:
Bonnie Gintis, DO lives in in northern Vermont. She has taught worldwide, addressing physicians and all people interested in exploring embodiment. She retired from Osteopathic private practice in 2009 and now devotes herself to teaching, writing, and exploring new ways to foster health and wellbeing. She is the author of Engaging The Movement Of Life: Exploring Health And Embodiment Through Osteopathy And Continuum.
Bonnie studied Continuum extensively with its founder Emilie Conrad and taught in collaboration with her for a long time. She was authorized by Emilie to teach Continuum herself, and now teaches a synthesis of all her areas of exploration and expertise. Continuum is an exploration into the fluid dance of life as it unfolds through our being and the world around us - a practice where movement is the teacher.
The practice of meditation is and has been fundamental on Bonnie`s journey as well. She trained to be a teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and has explored many approaches to mindfulness within and outside of Buddhist traditions.
AND, together with her husband she is the host of her own podcast called Osteopathy unplugged - through which they are creating a comprehensive "textbook" of Osteopathic Clinical Philosophy based upon the 21st century oral tradition of podcasting.
In the conversation with Bonnie we talked about …
Bonnie`s journey which led her to experience the importance of learning - anatomy and physiology from the inside out rather than outside in

The practice of continuum, an approach for embodied experience
What it means to engage the movement of life
