Wow! Great timing. I recently learned of Naltrexone, and will be getting my first prescription soon. Your videos helped push me to pull the trigger on Oar. That's a great synchronicity.

Hi Jonathan I've also tried to get the word out there with local doctors and I've really struggled on finding an audience that is willing to listen - any advice you can offer? I used your service myself and loved its ease - it was amazing - and I responded so quickly that I was able to slow down my Rx re-up since I have plenty of doses. Really trying to spread the word - just like Katie is!

Hi Jen. Thank you for joining Oar and spreading the word. It can feel like an uphill fight. Two resources that I would recommend sharing with skeptical medical professionals are SAMHSA's "Medication for the Treatment of Alcohol Disorder: A Brief Guide" and NIAAA's "Helping Patients Who Drink Too Much: A Clinician's Guide." These both represent our country's foremost institutions in this area saying what we know is true: AUD can be treated in many settings, including primary care, and naltrexone is a good frontline option for most patients. Both are geared to clinicians and both are free and in the public domain.

@@jonathanhunt-glassman1564 thanks for the information - I email a lot of link to the physician portal on the C3 website but maybe it's just too much information in one place and it's overwhelming. I know I'm an outlier on the response side, but that has made me passionate about getting the word out and turning the treatment community towards a new possible avenue of success. I'll bookmark your webiste; maybe you'll have future updates on there as well that I can share with people. Cheers, Jen

Just on day 3 or 4 on Naltrexone that I got from OAR the other day, the side effects kinda suck but it actually seems to help even a tad so far. How long do the beginning side effects last? I lost my job last week due to my alcoholism……☹️

they should go away within 1-2 weeks...are you doing better?
