This lesson reminds me of the many health care professionals who took care of (and touched) those dying with Covid. A beautiful story/lesson, Father. Thank you and God bless.

I appreciate the insight and unique manner in which Father talks to us each morning and ties his stories to the daily reading. God blesses us with these words.

Beautiful reflection Father Brad. As a retired health care worker, sometimes just the touch of another would bring immediate relief to a patient. Thank you and may the Lord continue to bless us with your guidance. 🙏✝️❤️

A simple touch of affection means a lot to some people who’s going through a lot. It shows compassion and empathy. The late Princess Diana broke protocol when she visited patients with AIDS and even carried a sick child. We can show compassion in so many ways.

Thank you Father Doyle for today's message. During the peak of AIDS, a friend, Sister Ann, a Franciscan nun had wanted a place for men, women and children to come, a day center. She found a house but as soon as the neighbors found out what it would be used for it went off the market. A friend of Ann's.a lawyer knew of a bank that had a property they couldn't sell. It was in a bad neighborhood of Tampa, they donated the building to Ann. This was a building that used to be a detail shop. It was a messy place with broken walls and windows. As two gay man my husband and I helped create Francis House in Tampa. We went in and cleaned it, We built walls and replaced windows. It took us weeks. The furniture was donated from patients that had died. Nothing matched, it was beautiful, all built with love. It was a time when even doctors, nurses and funeral directors would not touch people with AIDS. We made so many friends and then they were gone. It was hard. You are correct, a hug, a touch meant the world to them. Love is the best medicine. Jesus touched a man with Leprosy and he was cured. He was a good man : ) He is my friend !

Jesus said whatsoever you do to the least of my people you do to me. As Catholics we need to understand it doesn't matter how somebody acquired a disease like AIDs, it only matters how we as Catholics treat that person. It's really quite simple.

What have we got to LOSE? "...whoever wants to SAVE their life will LOSE it; but whoever LOSE their life for my sake will find it." Reach out your hand! If someone deosn't WANT your touch, pull it back. But often, he will soften and welcome the friend-loving touch. That's one facet of "society," a NEED to FEEL the other person. When someone NEVER gets physically touched in love, the person turns hard and cold. Or depressed. Our job is just to OFFER. A "side-hug." A double-handed handshake. A loving pat on the back. Try it: YOU'LL feel better!
