@fook mi Absolutely. There are plenty of women who don't want to hurt feelings, appear like the good nice girl they project to the world, but you have some guys that don't get social clues; you just have to be direct with them. Most guys in this area are socially awkward, doing that hover thing because they like you and stuff, but they don't know that they're making you uncomfortable. Just tell them, and they'll quickly do what needs to be done to stop that, ie., they'll go away and not bother you anymore. Of course, every now and then, you get the chud that doesn't want to acknowledge social clues because they're not into you like the socially awkward dude -- they just want to get into you. But, I feel like they're easier to spot because they tend to be bolder but still very much clueless about you particularly.

I met a guy like this my first semester in college 6 years ago. He was extremely overweight, did not pick up on my blatant discomfort (I was trying to politely show I wasn't interested without outright saying it, other people picked up on it though). The class would start at 9:00 and he ate a king size chocolate bar and drank a large grape soda for breakfast almost every class, his hygiene was terrible and his clothes were either practically falling off of him or too small.There was always two seats between us and I would catch him staring at me in my periphery (there was nowhere else to sit, he would have followed me anyway). When I had to work with him in class, I had to repeat what I said constantly because he would stare at me but not actually listen. One day, he sat in the chair right next to me, his extra skin and fat hanging off his body would jiggle and touch me everytime he moved. One day he stood at the door waiting for me so he could open the door for me. This is when he made his first and only attempt at a move. My mom was waiting outside and I was fast walking through the lobby to get away from him, he nearly sprinted to catch up, nearly flashing his a*s to the other students in the process and told me he wanted to "hang-out" and "study." I put my b*tch voice on and said "I don't hang out, alone, with guys I don't know well and my parents will not let me anyway even if I wanted to." Unphased, he then asked "how old are you" to which I said "I'm eighteen." He then stopped walking, said "oh, I'm 25," and walked away. I never saw him again, he dropped the class right after that. When your 25 and that bad at reading an woman's blatant discomfort, and you don't understand the concept of listening without oogling, self-awareness, showering and especially shampooing, don't be surprised when you gain a reputation for being a creep. You can't expect to get any when your that d*mn dumb and gross. Good hygiene, self-control, and self-awareness are some of the top traits I value In a person.

It's nice to see men actually acknowledge the position women are in when someone has an unrequited crush on them, and they have already repeatedly either directly told them they're not interested, or dropped a ton of obvious hints. I had that kind of situation in high school, and I'm a very honest and direct person. I told him multiple times I wasn't interested. I dated two other guys throughout our friendship. He still continued to make me incredibly uncomfortable and act like I was leaving him on or unfairly "friend zoning" him or something. Unfortunately, as a young woman, I wasn't wise enough to realize that I didn't do anything wrong. I felt guilty for, like, literally years, only to eventually wise up and realize I was just living my life and I didn't do anything wrong at all. I'm really glad other people have learned that lesson faster than I did. It's so unfair. It's why I really hate the term "friendzone," because sometimes it's a girl leading a guy on, but a lot of the time it's just a girl minding her own business and a guy not taking no for an answer or not picking up on extremely obvious signs.

I'm not saying this as a smug guy who the cheerleaders dreamed of in high school, I'm the guy who had to CONSTANTLY work (I have to work out 5-10 hours a week minimum just to not look like a noodle and/or fat, I have to dress and groom carefully to accentuate what little advantage I can even claim as to looks, I have to watch what I eat carefully at all times due to gaining fat easily and having difficulty maintaining any muscle mass -- not crying, it's a lot of work but it's a first world f__ing problem, not something to cry over).

The creepy dude made me realize how different that conversation and interaction looks if he was actually attractive and in shape. Guys really need to stop underestimating how much their appearance matters to women. Your "personality" can only do so much when you look like that. Edit: Guys don't overthink and take my comment out of context. The dude is definitely a creep attractive or not I'm simply saying that the interaction would look different if he presented himself much better physically. that's all
@MusMasi2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think his personality matches his appearance so far from the interactions there, friends long term girl friend, she already said no, hes still trying, not a good look, even if he was stunning. People will crutch on their looks, then there are others who will blame it all on their looks when they actually have social awareness problems, are rude, and thats why they will not improve because its everyone elses fault and never in any way theirs. He has no one else to blame for this outcome but himself.

@@MusMasi Looks aren't everything but part of social awareness is recognizing how your looks change the perception of an interaction. Rejection is good because it is straight forward honesty, it isn’t lying or being mislead and having your emotions toyed with, I wish he knew that. I empathize with him to an extent. I used to have social anxiety that was pretty bad, and its somethnig im still working on. Its the unfortunate reality of not learning a lot of social skills early on (whether it be through upbringing or other shit), not having a great sense of self-awareness, and having to go through life learning these lessons on your own the hard way, whether it be thru embarassing ways or non-embarassing ways. As cringy as it sounds, self love and self esteem are important, and I always found it a good thing to pick up healthy hobbies that will boost your self esteem. One thing I learned is, people, even if they say they like it, or dont care, don't like awkwardness or shyness. That's just a harsh reality. You could mean entirely well but your body language, if it betrays your intention, people will think differently of you. Its just the truth. I don't want people to see this and think anxiety, nervousness, or shyness is something intrisically bad. It is not. You are not a bad person for being shy. But, because you cannot control how people react, and because people react the way they do to shyness, you have to change your behavior around so people don't get the wrong impression of you. Its just the way it is.
@canadianturtle72402 жыл бұрын
You explained something that's been lingering in my head for years, but I could never really put into words. People get very uncomfortable around you if you're shy. If you show low-energy/shyness/nervousness, it rubs onto people and makes them feel awkward. I noticed when I speak to people with confidence and not a shaky voice, they respond better.

Don't let people ignore you, like if you address somone & they don't reply then don't be scared to be more direct & force them to at least aknowledge your presence, it also makes others around you respect you more. But on the same note don't be like the guy in the video & not take no for an answer, if it's romantic interest just say ok & move on/hide your feelings until they go. Don't show how bothered you are about stuff & try to keep it in perspective & not case everything is your fault, everyone you interact with has their own stuff going on, good & bad, & some may just be assholes, that isn't a reflection on you. Don't be afraid to interact with your enviroment & look interested & engaged, even just waiting in line if you look about, so you don't seem shy or closer off laser focused on the staff or like a horse with fear blinkers on. Focus on prioritizing having fun over looking foolish, even if you appear a bit hyped up people will value confidence over being timid. If other people don't appreciate you having fun, them you still have a good time & it's good practice to not care so much about what others think. I used to go to arcades & when my shy friends were engaged in that they built confidence & often talked to other people there in a more confident way. Like somone else said hobbies are a good way to work on confidence & social skills as it's something to focus on so takes the pressure off the conversation, you know you have at least something in common, there is more pressure on the other people to positively engage & at least you learn something & enjoy the activity. That was probably too long but I hope at least one of those examples helped.

Sapiosexual is such a weird ass made up term. Most people dont want a brick for a significant other. These made up terms are so cringe

Talking about weird made up terms, have you heard about "love language" ?

All terms are made up. That's how language works.

It doesn't even seem to be the right term to be using. Sapiosexual implies that it's a sexual orientation revolving around you being attracted to intelligence. Meaning you are a more specific version of a pansexual, you are open to all genders and sexes given that they are an intelligent individual. Yet plenty of heterosexual people use this term. Sapio(philia) seems like a better term, since it merely describes a trait of your attraction/adoration for a specific thing, without overriding the sexual orientation. But people don't like tagging themselves with "philia" because it sounds similar to paedophilia.

I can speak to this. I agree it's weird, but have you seen the profiles on dating apps? Nobody can write a decent sentence or show any depth of thought. Also, it shows *effort* if you go and look it up before you ask me what it means. It automatically weeds out willingly uneducated knuckleheads. I switched to using the word because I usually go for nerdy dudes, but I quickly came to find that nerdy didn't necessarily mean intelligent or engaging. You're right that nobody wants a brick for a significant other, but that doesn't stop bricks from trying to find an SO. Already dated sentient brick, not doing it again.

The combination of Preach laughing and the woman grabbing the drink after hearing that question. That guy is surely on life support!

I would not have the audacity to publicly come out and say that I've had a crush on my best friend's partner while they were together. Like wtf. It's your best friend, their partners are taboo.

Love it- best line I've heard on this "like they tryin to compensate for they lack a brains by goin thru they partner" ... so true. It's like they validate themselves by claiming to have like a "moral" sexuality.

As a man, you gotta stay in your lane. This dude fat, hairy, doesn’t look like he takes care of himself, isn’t self aware, isn’t funny… even money won’t make up for all those negatives. Why are you going to expect someone to care about you when YOU don’t even care about yourself?
@justocean21972 жыл бұрын
I said the same thing to one of my homies I said " if you could clone yourself and the one you cloned turned into a girl. You think that girl would wanna get fucked by you? Probably not". So why are you expecting any girl to wanna fuck you then..

Women are much more in tune with it because they are more socially driven. Introverts especially need to actually learn them

some people have conditions that contribute to this, they do not pick up on social ques I know some, they are extremely annoying, like people literally running to get away from them.
