Great video. Can you please explain the meaning of the F- speed and FS -speed indication on the speedtape? Which one do you use to retract flaps and which one to extend? etc. I understand the green dot is maneuvering speed for a given configuration.

It´s called speed error tape and it shows you the difference between the actual and selected airspeed it moves up and down reflecting this error.

What is the green dot to the right of the speed tape used for?

Hi, and thanks for watching! The Green Dot is what it’s actually called and indicates the ideal speed for selecting flaps. The green dot also indicates the drift down speed when slat/flap is retracted and the flap maneuvering speeds for other slat/flap settings. The flap maneuvering speeds are computed based on airplane weight and slat/flap setting. The green dot does not change with bank angle or turbulence but accounts for ice accumulation.

Whats the 680 altitude in magenta during the ground roll and once airborne telling the AFCS? I didnt see any features such as lateral nor vertical navigation being activated upon reaching 680 feet. Is this just a not turn before ALT made up by the FMS? Or it has its use in the AFCS scheme of things? Is the FLCH magenta because you had VNAV armed during takeoff? What if you dont arm VNAV during take off. Would it go automatically to FLCH green or you need to select FLCH button on reaching acceleration altitude?

Hi, and thanks for watching! The 680ft is an altitude restriction on the SID, requiring min 680ft before making a right hand turn. When FLCH is magenta, one could think of it as a VNAV. So at 1100ft AGL, (acceleration height set in the MCDU on ground, on DEP LIM page) the vertical mode goes from TO green to FLCH magenta. Meaning the FMS follows any altitude restrictions on the SID programmed in the FMS. If VNAV is not armed at take off the vertical mode would be TO until manually selecting a new mode. So selecting FLCH button manually, at any altitude, the FLCH would be green. I hope this answered your question, if not let me know =)

does the virtual view on the PFD lag a little bit? I noticed you retracted the landing gear while the PFD was still showing the plane on the ground.

Yes, it appears so, because I can assure you, we were airborne before we retracted the gear 😅
