Emei Arhat fist is an ancient Chinese fist technique dating back to the Jin Dynasty (266-420). A monk traveling to Mount Emei in southwest China's Sichuan Province and resident monks created this martial arts style together. Influenced by the local mountainous terrain, most of the 108 moves of Emei Arhat fist are for melee fight. Using the strong and powerful fist, one can fight beasts in the forest and stand out in fierce battles. It has been a superior method of attack since ancient days, and a very practical exercise method in modern times. If I would have to pick one of the techniques, it would've been this one. It looks somewhat similar to the wing chun which is also a Southern Chinese kung fu style.

My favorite martial art is Bagua and Tai Chi is really cool. I started learning Silat and Escrima in1993 and taught myself Tai Chi and Bagua by reading and watching video 5 hours a day then practicing for 5 hours a day! Everyone respects me and very few gangster kids threaten me on the street any more. I just laugh at them when they do! I am 44 YO and grew up with gangster rap. I am from Hollywood originally. My father was a famous musician. He had a great work ethic.

in case you didn't catch it, this style specifically aims for the vulnerable parts of the body and employs elbow strikes...so yeah, not exactly tournament legal. while we all know those "too deadly for fights" tropes, this one doesn't talk about any mysticism. are the practitioners untested? very probable. is the style's effectiveness exaggerated? reasonably possible. is the style making up woo? no.
