Over 10 years ago, Code Rouge and I wrote this song and recorded it in one afternoon in Brussels supported by the brave people of Generation Palestine
Today, after witnessing the tragic events in #Gaza #SheikhJarrah and all over #palestine🇵🇸 we decided to share it and post it again.
It is at once sad and good to see it oh so relevant.
On one hand humanity is failing but at the same time, we're seeing an unprecedented amount of support to the Palestinians worldwide.
As one of us falls another one is ready to take on the fight and when humans are united for justice no tyranny can live on.
Also, we as artists have the duty to speak up, create art for truth and justice.

The steps become heavy, the legs no longer follow
The horizon spreads out continuously,
Hypocrisy,
They talk about human rights on the terrace of a yacht under the midday sun
What justice it is a purge
When those who execute are also lawyers and judges,
blame that persists
On this land where you were born, living is a terrorist act
But it's stronger than you, there's this voice in a corner of your head
Of the record that tells you to resist
The bullets on you only have to lodge
Giving up is a death so bitter harder to bear
To resist is above all to exist
This thirst for freedom for each exhaled sigh
This pride in the greatest of misfortunes
Pushes you to raise your head before your oppressors
As equals, at least,
They have in front human beings not dogs
fathers, mothers of family by a wall
Kids who only dream of a future
They think they killed the flame of a candle,
But looking at our hearts it is a fire raging
Look at the courage of this people refusing to kneel before the 4th Army of the world
Because there they celebrate every day the carnival
Their atrocious crimes are disguised as surgical strikes
In spite of that, what an example
Look at their fixed knees, and look at yours as they tremble
It is you who massacres, at close range
You who spray a whole population with white phosphorus
You who demolish their roof, their schools, their jobs
And yet it is you who live in fear
On the surface of your skin
Because for every lifeless body left behind, you will find someone to carry the flag
For every soul stolen, you will find 10 who will stand up,
10 who will fight, and 10 who will fall
And for these 10 that fall, you will find a thousand that rise
A thousand on the front, a thousand who will fall
From your hands full of blood drowned in impunity,
Until you find in front of you, proud and dignified, an army of people, standing up
Let this day be mine let this day be yours
Because today we are all Palestinians.
To these people who give us a lesson of dignity every day
A fire kindled
Reminding us of what is sometimes most precious in humanity
To all these militants armed with ardor
The thought of others and the hand on the heart
Who wake up every day saying that this child of Gaza could have been theirs
You know
Sometimes whispers when they cross each other can break the wall of a Coliseum
