The only reason Adam took so long to find a way to stop the lambent is bc he was an engineer, yes he was a scientist but specialized in a specific field. He had to learn a completely different field of study

It’s just another tragic aspect of the whole series: Myrrah could have spared Elaine, set her to the task of curing the lambent, and left Adam to end the war on the surface so that, once the cure was complete, the Locust could contact a human civilization at peace and willing to _maybe_ help them out. But no. Myrrah’s hatred of humanity led her to doom her own species by killing the only person who could have prevented the Locust War, and to lump the responsibility on a man who had no expertise in fighting the infection. She shot herself, her race, and the entire fucking planet, in the foot.

I remember how Gears 4 butchered the lore with E-Day. I remember Jinn saying in her speech during how “hundreds of thousands were dead”. Try MILLIONS if not billions. We are never given a full population count, but I’d argue it had to have been in the billions just like earth

The Locust were supposedly losing against the Lambent for 7 years before Emergence Day. Afterwards, the Locust opened up another war front by fighting humanity. That split their forces between those that are fighting the Lambent, and those that are fighting humans. 14 years later after E-Day (21 years after the start of the Lambent War), the Lambent reached the Locust headquarters, Nexus. If the Locust were able to fight THAT LONG while their armies were divided from fighting two completely different wars simultaneously, then how were the Locust, allegedly, losing badly enough to the Lambent to be able to predict that they could not win against them? Why would it take so many years of fighting for the Lambent to finally reach the Inner Hollow?

One simple event that your argument made that the lambent managed to reach Nexus it as possible, lightmass bomb. When the bomb detonated into heart of the locust it cause chain reaction. Making the imulsion more aggressive more active. Before emergence day the imulsion wasn’t that very mutated like gears of war 3. But when Jacinto what’s destroyed with a lambent brumak, the Lambent evolve to rapidly.

Can you clarify; some say E-Day happened 6 weeks or 2 years after the Pendulum War ended. Which is it, or do they count their months and years differently on Sera somehow?

It took place 6 weeks after, and in terms of time like that, I'm not entirely sure but I'd like to guess that it's quite similar. However, last I checked, they have 26 hours in a day rather than 24, if I remember the books correctly. (I'm only 16 at the moment, but have been heavily invested in the Gears of War universe for the past year so if I'm wrong, please correct me.)

We really need a Gears of War prequel that layer in the events before the first Gears of War and Gears of War: Judgement. I commented on Rob Fergusson (former producer of Gears) on Twitter post this January talking about “The Pendulum Wars is one of the Gears lore that hasn’t been explored other than the comics and novels”. While he no longer works in Gears and focuses more on Diablo, he like my enthusiasm. I think my suggestion for you is to post in another video in discussing the Gears prequels (that layer in the events of the Pendulum Wars and E-Day) could potentially save the franchise.

I game set during the lambet conflict and pendulum wars would of been good. Could of took control of a locust drone fighting the lambet, then switch to COG soldiers fighting the UIR. Similar to how it switches between Marcus and Dom to Cole and Baird in Gears of war 3

Wonder what would've happened if the locust first try a diplomatic solution before invasion. Because if it was a success then cog and locust could have fought the lambent together, and if it wasn't a success then they could have just carried on with their invasion. Just seemed it would have been a smarter move.

I don’t think the COG would have helped them when they would have received the diplomatic delegation from the Locust… The COG government would try their hardest to keep the existence of the Locust hidden from most, since they kinda created them. There’s also the fact that the relationship would still have lead to war at one point, Myrrah and a lot of locust resented humans for how they were treated by the personnel of the lab from which they escaped… The most likely outcome of any attempt at diplomacy would lead to the COG refusing to help or sending only a small amount of men to help, meaning the locust would still need to emerge to survive…

@@slaaneshshewhothirst9136 Wasn't that the original lore? COG was busy denying the existence of the Hollows, recovering from the Pendulum Wars, and had Adam Fenix working on some form of cure to lambency. The issue being that Adam ran out of time and Myrra was out of patience.

@@justiceforjoggers2897 Adam Fenix cure for lambency was a secondary research, especially since the COG diverted all of his research to the lightmass bomb/Hammer of dawn before the end of the pendulum wars. If I remember correctly, he didn’t explicitly told the COG about the locust since he only found them while searching for his wife (who was executed by the locust when she was researching in the Hollow). And there was only a very small portion of the COG higher ups who knew about the New hope research facility and even less that knew about the locust and Myrrah(most of them died when the locust rebelled and escape the facility) . The research on the effects of impulsions on Humans was started before Adam Fenix started his research on Lambency, which led to the creation of the locust and Myrrah. The research existing was also hidden from a lot of people since the COG didn’t want the general public to know about the fact that imulsion was potentially dangerous with continuous exposure. I do not think there was any attempt on diplomacy before emergence day, Fenix hid the existence of the locust to the COG.
