It would be hard to work in 911 answering phones, i dont know english word of that work. You really have to listen what victims say in phone and what you have to send to scene.

Well it does take a special kind of person to do that job, personally I would think dispatching instead of calltaking would be less stressful on your emotional state of mind.

But if something happens to the guys you sent there you will still feel bad as fuck. Still, i think the part of recieving calls is harder since you have to listen to tragedy every day. Stay safe.

All volunteer fireDepts have to have jaws of life on the truck. Its a mandatory thing

It's mandatory? In my department we have a Heavy Technical Rescue truck, that's the only rig that has the jaws on it in my department.

Zeke Hunt not near me the nearest jaws of life is the only paid dept with in 25 miles and its a county wide ALS Service oh and the nearest truck(Ladder) is 35 miles away

We're full volunteer, except our EMS which are 50% paid and 50% volunteer, our Truck isn't equiped with the jaws due to budget, but it's really nice having a Rescue truck, considering we get more MVCs than confirmed fires and such.

We had jaws only on the rescue squad and on the ladder hence why I usually run the ladder to a MVA

Its not mandatory where I am from, granted the department I am on, has a main set of jaws on our rescue truck, and a second set on our primary engine, but some of the other smaller departments nearby don't have jaws on any of there units yet.

I think that the problem with engine at station 4 has to do with the gates. I've had the same issue with the bushton mod. You have to open all 3 gates from the dispatch room at station 1
