There's an old Night Gallery episode called "The Boy Who Predicted Earthquakes" where a young boy who could see the future saw a vision of Earth being destroyed the next day by a supernova (or something like that). No, because our perspective is that of actually entering the black hole. Time passes for us just as it always has done. Time dilation would only be an issue for an observer some distance away, where they'd see us slow down to a standstill before we were red-shifted into invisibility. Though I suppose with that kind of gravity, the effects would be significant even over small distances. So you might wind up with time dilation between the broadcast studio and your living room, I suppose. In practice, though, those same gravitational forces would almost certainly have torn the whole planet to bits well before we got to experience any of that, sadly.

I know that black holes are super dense...the less dense Neutron Star would fuck up our entire system just by coming too close to one planet, so a black hole likely doesn’t need TOO much size to do it? But yes, the hole itself pulls in light, and areas around the black hole are supposed to be fantastically bright because the light is pulled in towards it.

I cant imagine being a parent and telling my child the worlds aboug to end. I think in those last few minutes i would spend it with just them, tryinb to keep them happy. And once the final countdown starts, ill pull them into a hug, they'll probably be confused, ill tell them i love them and, well, the world...ends.

Instead, it will become a red giant and burn up the Earth and eventually swallow it. This will not happen for 5 billion more years.
