Did they spot a CRJ900 that needed a de-tailing, on the taxiway?

Is there a reason airlines frequently use four-digit flight numbers? Considering all the radio traffic congestion, using even slightly smaller call signs would help.

Why’s it important to actually declare an emergency? Does that do something in protocol for the tower n ground crew
@ThinkHarderrАй бұрын
When an emergency is declared it gives that airplane priority over everyone else and ensures they can make it back to the ground safely

Wow pretty cool didn’t know . Thank goodness for all these safety protocols

@@jaimediaz2639 with an emergency comes a lot of paperwork tho which is probably why the pilot sounds hesitant at first

It's the year 2024 and we're still having the fuel in pounds vs minutes debate. All kidding aside, great comms all around.

I will never understand WHY ATC needs to ask for both pounds and minutes for fuel! I find it annoying when pilots are dealing with an emergency!
@evanirvana500Ай бұрын
I tend to agree . I understand needing to know how much fuel aboard to better plan for a heavy landing of light and if it drops and crashes how big a fire it could cause. But why need both? Choose one and make that an aviation standard so every ATC knows
@coolbear644122 күн бұрын
From what I understand it has to do with The volume of jet fuel which can change based on temperature, especially at high altitudes. Fuel is burned by mass, not volume. And I remember something that pounds has to do with the plane being overweight or not when landing and for the minutes I think ARFF needs to know how long the fuel might burn..🤷♂️🤷♂️

Pounds so they can alert emergency services how much fuel is involved and minutes as aircraft burn fuel based on the type of aircraft and a host of other factors. Both are to ensure the best outcome for passengers, crew, and emergency services.
