EMERGENCY EVACUATION SOUTH OF THE BERING SEA IN THE NORTH PACIFIC OCEAN UNDER EXTREME WEATHER!

Breaking News!!! Dangerous helicopter medical evacuation performed by the amazing United States Coast Guard (USCG). The USCG performed the evacuation in extreme weather conditions, high winds, freezing rain, dense fog, 12-16 foot sea swells just south of the Bering Sea in the North Pacific Ocean. We are sailing on the Carnival Luminosa historical 31 night journey originating from Brisbane, Australia and ending in Seattle, Washington. The medical evacuation occurred approximately at 8:15am at the aft of the ship. Both the USCG and the Carnival Cruise Line personnel were extremely professional and skilled in the evacuation process under these difficult weather conditions. Not sure, but it had to be a severe medical situation in order to be evacuated by a helicopter in extreme weather conditions: high winds, dense fog, rain, snow and high sea swells.Thank you for your questions, comments and coming along on our journey around the world.

On QM2 crossings, when there is a medevac, passengers are not permitted on the external decks, or even their balconies.

Trust me when i tell you that this was a very simple evolution for the JayHawk crew. In my years in the Navy and since I have seen many far more challenging hoist evolutions. This weather wasn't even all that extreme for the region. But they did a great job as always.

Not really sure. We have had a number of medical evacuations on this 31 night journey. This was our first chopper evacuation. The others were via ambulance while in port. Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
