STI also makes momentary versions of this button that would be better for this situation. You could simply press the button to release the door and then when you let go the magnet would turn back on.

The only reason I’m going back in is to be honest with myself because I’m not really sure how much money I’m spending and how I’m doing with the job I’m working right so if I’m spending the same time I have no problem with that I just don’t want to spend it and then you have a little time and you know I’m going out

Nice! I think there are some pull stations that are actually labeled for your setup. Some of them say "Door Release" on them.

Why do fire doors close? Wouldn't it make it harder to evacuate from a fire?

Certain doors will close to help stop the spread of fire and smoke into other parts of the building. These doors, along the path of egress, will not lock by any means and swing out, making evacuation easy. The doors stay closed to stop smoke and fire spread after everyone is out
