let me first ask a couple questions , You want read into the emergency room through a door that is designated as an emergency exit door correct ? is it an interior door or does it exit to the outside of the building? hit me up on facebook , same name as the channel, we can chat .

Yes it does , good question, the whole reasoning for the card before exit of the secured side of the door is to shunt the 15 second delay and alarm sounder ( for staff ) using the door for daily activities. Any preasure on the exit device bar without the card read will sound the audible alarm , if you press on that bar it will not open for 15 seconds no matter how many times you try. @@doinsngoins sort of. But if you didn’t have the card system and the delayed egress function and it was purely a standard alarmed push bar, does not pushing the bar and pushing the latch instead still trigger the alarm?

@@mattdude if you dont have a card system Detex has stand alone kits for a door , there is a key override at the door for staff

Is there an online forum on how to set up a card reader to control a honeywell vista panel? If not, how did you accomplish that?

I will need to verify; however, it is a DETEX with electronic latch retraction with an integrated request to exit.

It's a 15 second delay egress, the card read upon exit is only for staff to exit ( it shunts the local siren and the delay) if the theif hits the door , the 15 second delay will stop them , it opens after 15 seconds and allows egress. There is a DETEX brass key there above for the reset. Thank you !

yes this a special door that we have to get permission to set up like this , its to allow 15 seconds to try and apprehend a theif running out the back of the store !!!!

What if theres an *actual emergency* and theres a power failure, does it have to wait if theres a fire? (I think thats a deadly flaw about the delayed egress)

If our installation here lost power it will fail secure as it is an exterior door , ( however ) mechanically from the inside you can egress freely . You point is well taken , an improper install would be a problem.

What folks man not understand, anyone at any time can blow thru this door , however they will met with a 90 db piezo alarm and the lock will not release until 15 seconds .

The card swipe in the secured side of the door is for staff , if they present their access card before exiting, this command will shunt the process as the go in and out of this door all day.

Requiring a badge to exit a building (more specifically, the door remaining closed until a badge is presented) is a massive law violation. Ya’ll are kill someone.

No ... it is not , a 15-second DE is used in retail every day ( and ) Permited and Approved by code enforcement. Your input is valid if not planned for and approved. Know your code !
