It's amazing how far you have come in less than 2 years! I so happy for you, you're doing great. Amazing update! Once we got our emergency fund it felt so great to be able to work towards other goals, like pension and house improvements. My thing is walks in the forest, reading and exercising (no need to give to me, just wanted to answer anyway)

Hi Vada, we are debt free and so excited about that! We also have our emergency fund well funded! I started cash stuffing around spring and so enjoy having money set aside in an envelope or a bucket in the bank to pay for something and not have to take it out of savings!!! I recently joined an aquatic center and spend some of my spare time doing water aerobics. So much fun!!! ♥️♥️

Over the summer, I loved going for walks and starting to garden. I’m getting more into watching motivational videos (mostly financially motivating, but also some mindset aswell) on KZbin and yours is one of my favorites!

I'm so proud of you and Mr. Simple ! Sorry I have been MIA, my kids came home and my husbands service dog of 13 years passed away on Oct 7 . So much more has happened in between but those are the most important.

My "me" time is spending time with my special needs child... be it watching TV or watching him play a video game. He has been a blessing since my husband's sudden death. My husband's death woke me up and made me realize I need to make plan for our (my son and I) future. I am on a debt free journey now and thank you so much for your advice. I love your channel. ❤

This video was so helpful! We have a car payment for the first time in about 10 years because our engine unexpectedly blew out this summer and we were not prepared to replace it after only having it 4 years. We used the 5,000 I had saved for emergency as a down payment. I am really struggling with not adding new clothes to my fall wardrobe among other things. The idea of saving for what I want seems so hard because I feel like there will never be enough but it is true that we just need to learn to wait for things and not having the guilt would be worth it. I loved the quote you shared. Also adding the interest to other categories besides the emergency fund is a great idea.

that’s so so hard when you have something unexpected crop up like that. BUT you should be SO PROUD of yourself for having that $5k emergency fund there so you could use it. not many people can say that!

I love interest day and reallocating that to my “fun” buckets! I also use a CC with cash back. When I use the cash back to pay the bill, I then allocate whatever cash back I used to other buckets in my high yield saving account to start earning interest on that. It’s so fun!

we’re actually toying with using a credit card for cash back. we’ve been staunchly anti-credit card to this point- but now we feel like we’ve got the discipline to manage it!

@@thesimplebudgetlike you, I was the spender in our family and I made poor choices that negatively impacted my credit. Through using Capital One (Savor) I have been able to make $50-$100 a month in cash back rewards for daily spending and build my credit score back to 771. I make sure to pay it off every week or two so I don’t get charged interest. It’s channels like yours that inspire me to keep giving every dollar a purpose and save rather than spend

This was so motivating and inspiring! We are on baby step #2 and just seeing that $1000 in our savings account is already so comforting and gratifying. I'm also a recovering impulse buyer, and I swear I experienced some level of withdrawals when we started this journey. I needed to write down the things I wanted to buy just to get them out of my head, or else I would just think about it all day! Its gotten easier, but I'm still trying to re-wire the way my brain thinks about money and spending.

Great progress! So happy for you! For me time I like to start with a nice hot shower to help reset my mind. Ideally all the household chores are done beforehand including dinner. Then I like to settle down with my favorite KZbin creators, a good book or a movie. Occasionally even a nice trip out where I get lunch and maybe hit up the discount stores to see what's new. If I'm really able to pamper myself then I might get my hair and nails done which I'm hoping I can get done next month for my 40th birthday. What a gorgeous color!

My big comment for the video today. “Surprise it’s all your money.” Just think a year from now even more money could go to house projects or vacations. Speaking of vacations make sure you take your vacay car in for a vacation check up before you travel. Most mechanics will check breaks, hoses, and liquids in your car so you feel ok taking it on a long journey.
