Emergency Helivac from San Diego Coast Guard 500 miles from land. Discovery Princess.

The San Diego division of the US Coast Guard worked with the US Navy and the Discovery Princess to helivac a passenger to shore for medical treatment. The coast guard helicopter had to refuel halfway between San Diego and the Discovery Princess cruise ship on a Navy aircraft carrier. The passenger that required medical treatment made it back safely to San Diego and is in good spirits.
