This wartime propaganda film discusses the economic crises in Honduras caused by the outbreak of World War II. Given the threat of German submarines, the export of bananas by ship was halted. With the economy in ruins, the film implies that workers began to sympathize with the Nazis. Therefore, a U.S.-led coalition set out to solve the problem by getting goods to the Pacific coast by building a new road. The film conveniently ignores the role of United Fruit Company in creating the problem in the first place. The films also features an interesting soundtrack, namely Aaron Copland's "El Salon Mexico."
