Hi Jason! Great build! We currently have 100 cornish cross meat birds in an electric netting, but we have been thinking about building something movable like this for some layer hens. So that we don't have to worry about clipping their wings as often. Any recommendations if we modify this to add some nesting boxes? Thanks! -Ryan & Cara

Jason I love that you care about how things on your homestead look. The new tractors look good & will be a nice step up from the brooder. The garden is beautiful and doing well Loraine, and you're still harvesting lettuce! Yes! The grass is much nicer now. I love how you all steward the land & animals. I really enjoy all your videos, so let me say thank you.

Hey Jason, we find great success with turkeys by putting a couple baby chicks in with them. Turkeys need the chicks to teach them to eat & drink.

Love your videos showing the growth of your chickens. I'm also impressed with how much building of coops and pens you are doing. It's interesting to see how you are building corrals for chickens like the homestead previously had corrals for horses.

Jason first I wanna let you know that I really value your videos and thereby, the time you spend putting them together for us. You do a lot of teaching in your videos and I thank you for taking the time to do that!! Second, that was a great bye I’m getting all of that fabric on sale 75% off at the end of the season even though you weren’t sure what you were gonna do with it or when you would need it, you just took a chance on it and now, with the high prices of everything, I know you’re glad you did!! Third, I like how you were able to utilize the board you have by ripping them in half & Still having a Sturdy enough chicken coop/tractor!! Again, with the economy as it gets higher & higher prices, you show people how to be efficient with what you have! Your turkeys are really beautiful. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen young turkeys that look as nice as yours so I was very excited to get to see them at that age. I’ve always seen older turkeys. Last, I think it is harder to get to bed early in the summer time. The only thing I can say about that having lived on the farm also he said come Winter, It’s easier to go to bed around 6 PM because the sun goes down at five and most farmers get their chores done before dark so it’s kind of a trade off. God bless you for how hard you work and all that you do in sharing with us

I enjoyed watching this video. I must say, I enjoyed watching you build the temporary chicken coops. You are a meticulous and clean builder. That's what I appreciate. You take every job seriously and build it so that the end product looks good and neat. Great job! I like the steel pipe handle, it looks good and sturdy. Of course, the chickens don't care if their home looks good or not, but, they don't watch your videos either,,, we do, and we enjoy them.

If we have the cash flow, we buy the lot when the prices are great (75% off is great even when there isn't a lot of inflation and availability concerns) and we are likely to use the items sooner or later. If nothing else, and we think we can/ will use it, we spend the amount a single would cost at full price resulting in extra quantity in the cart at no more cost than what we expected to pay when we entered the store.

Got 25 3 week old Freedoms in the shed at the moment in their 3 tote condo (cut holes in the sides of totes ;) ) First timer here - and in New Mexico... so no pasture... only got clay ground, some scrub and cacti in a large fenced area (also with electric fencing) which I need to create some shade in somehow before they get big enough to move into it... (we're using an old truck camper shell as one shaded area probably - but thinking it will be too much for me to tractor ;) ) So was thinking of an interim coop/tractor... but we're due to go into monsoon time soon (hopefully as we have a large fire near us atm - Hermits Peak) - so wondering how to build something to work with potential rain? Like adding a half floor one end they can get onto if it rains hard? & thinking of trying a chicken tractor on steroids set up ala Geoff Lawton with them.... i.e. making compost... so at what age would you let Freedom Rangers have a little more free ranging? & grateful for your timing on this ;)

Hello! If there are long periods of rain, for example 4-5 days, and the pasture is soaked, how do we keep the chickens from getting wet and sick while in the chicken tractor? If we don't have a dry shed built nearby, is there a solution related to the construction of the chicken tractor?
