Emergency surgery on our spider monkey!
We had a great scare, our spider monkey Polly was rushed to the hospital with serious respiratory problems. With the help of teams of veterinary specialists @agromedica and @rodrigo_machadovet, she was diagnosed with cysts in the lungs and a heart condition. This was probably because people who owned her before her gave her cigarettes and marajuana to smoke while she was in the pet trade, before she could rescue her from it.
After intensive care, she now she seems to be stable. All of us at #rescuecentercostarica pray for a speedy and successful recovery.
