I Love Emergency. Everyday when I got home from school, I would be in front of the tv waiting to watch it. This show is one reason y I became a firefighter. To the whole crew of Station 51, I give a BIG THANK U for making my dreams come true. Awesome video.

Tones and sirens from The Wedsworth Townsend Act back in Season 1 those sounds were used in the first few shots of Station 10 responding from Station 8 as they were using Station 8 to shoot the first 24 hours following John Gage (Randolph Mantooth) as a rescue man and be transferred to a rescue medic in another firehouse aka Station 51 or known as Station 127 today since they used Station 127’s quarters for 7 straight seasons until the day John Gage (Randolph Mantooth) and Roy DeSoto (Kevin Tighe) get promoted to captain because in the show they didn’t do the lieutenant rank just straight to captain instead. In the shot of Station 51 leaving quarters before the music started Station 51 (Station 127) is Station 10 (Station 8) so Squad 51 is Squad 10 and Engine 51 is Engine 10 x3 and Truck 10 x1 all in 1. So good thing we can go back to the beginning of Johnny’s career in the fire department in LA County and use the sirens that were once used at the beginning of the movie and put them into a tribute song. Also if anyone remembers when John Gage (Randolph Mantooth) and Tony Freeman (Colby Chester) get turned out for a possible high voltage electrocution call at 132-70 Flower Street at 3rd Street where they drive Squad 10 which used a 1970 Dodge D300 to the call and they also get met by Truck 127 which was at a different firehouse to make room for the usage of Engine 51 and Squad 51. Colby Chester would not be seen for quite a while in the movie but we never got a chance to see him at the tunnel explosion that started just before 6 in the evening back in 1972.

I made a comment on another post that this show inspired one of my two brothers to become a LACO Fire Explorer, then a firefighte; he is now a Batallion Chief (30+ yrs. later). My brothers and my dad would go hunting aluminum cans to recycle, and the money they saved bought their first scanner. Within a matter of weeks, my brothers knew all the alert tones for LACO FD!!

Roy with that fridge. Unreal! You can see it is Kevin Tighe, no stuntman, but I'm sure the fridge had to be weighed to make its slide look legit. Only thing I can deduce is there was a trip to stop it's descent, but still Tighe had to make sure he got close enough to it to make it appear as tho he really stopped it without it seriously hurting him.

Stacy LaRose Me too. But I took it further. I'm now a first responder and first aider and have used it many times. Worst case was I was working at a mall and someone came to the desk presented with anaphylaxis symptoms. Ems volunteer arrived along with paramedics

WOW!!! BRILLIANT =D I've always loved "Emergency!" and this is one of the best tributes I have seen on YT. It's because of this show that I became an Emergency Department Nurse and I love it most days..... LOL. That's what made the show good, it's just about the team members and the hospital staff (and of course the accident victims/patients).

I just watched "Problem". I felt rather sorry for Roy in that episode, because that doctor chewed him out big time. And then, when Roy found out that the man had died, he, of course, started second guessing himself even more. I would probably have done the same thing. Isn't it awful to be misunderstood?

I met Randy Mantooth Yesterday he had been in Columbus Ohio for a meeting and was there, for the L A fire fighters museum getting Donations, I was very Nervous, I hope he didnt see that , But it taken me 44yrs for this dream to come true for me, He sure looked Good for what he been through, I even gave him a copy Of a Poem I published called for a Better Tomorrow, Randy is awesome, every step of the way and Brave too, it sure was a Blessing to be there and seeing the Man we admire his Strength, Bless him,

I think it that episode they were transporting a cardiac arrest/heart attack when the ambulance got into an accident. Why they just said hey lets transport in a stokes on top of the engine I have no idea

They also did this (without using CPR) in Season 3 episode 6 "Snakebite". On the tail-end of a rescue call out forty minutes from base, Johnny gets suddenly bitten by a rattlesnake, and, since Roy went into the chopper earlier with the original victims, Johnny must treat himself and the rest of the crew are forced to transport him on the engine to the hospital, because it would be too late if they waited for an ambulance.
