Actually no, Daemon NEVER wanted the throne for himself. The first scene of Daemon, with him sitting on the Iron Throne, it's not a proof of him wanting it for himself, it's just Daemon being provocative as he always is. He surely thinks about the Iron Throne as his family throne, but WE KNOW he never wanted the throne for himself because we saw it and because he said it: what he wanted was to be at his brother's side, he wanted to be his Hand. We saw him helping Viserys to sit on the throne, taking up the fallen crown and putting it back on his brother's head. After that we saw him crowning Rhaenyra, being the first one to kneel down and to call her "MY QUEEN". Also, Daemon announced Rhaenyra as "Rhaenyra, First of her name....". We saw him asking the truth from the guards about whom they recognize as the true ruler and we saw him asking them to swear loyalty to QUEEN RHAENYRA AND PRINCE JACAERYS, the Heir to the Iron Throne. Last but not least, he said "MY BROTHER'S THRONE". He just wants Rhaenyra to be strong, determined and ready to strike. He fears she's not.

Daemon is a great warrior and experienced at war, I would imagine he would find it hard to follow someone who knows nothing of battle, when he could be leading the battle himself, he might love Rhaenyra but respecting her as a queen and leader is a different matter.

My main takeaways: 1. They've teased clips of Blood and Cheese multiple times, but at no point have we actually seen Blood's face 2. I knew he was cool but holy shit, Vermithor looks freaking BADASS 3. Baela has a more involved role compared to the books as she's clearly involved in Rook's Rest 4. Cregan looks different to how I imagined him but 100% has that Stark look down. Can't wait to see what he looks like in the final season years from now. 5. Aemond getting it on with Alys Rivers 6. The massive budget compared to Game of Thrones really shows in the improved scale and detail of the Red Keep 7. Sunfyre and Moondancer both look perfect as young quick dragons 8. Given how the books go, it's safe to say most of these trailer clips are all only from the first half of the second season

I don't think that scene with Rhaenyra has anything to do with Daemon wanting to crown himself. The development of Daemon's character over season 1 made it pretty clear that he doesn't really care about taking the throne or political power for himself (though his enemies certainly use that charge against him). The issue isn't whether Daemon will support Rhaenyra as queen, but whether he will actually *obey* her as his queen. Will Daemon actually do what Rhaenyra wants and hold back from things she tells him not to do, or will he just continue being his usual loose cannon self and do whatever he wants while not really giving a shit about orders?

Potential Spoilers ahead: I',m wondering if Baela's more prominent role during the battle of Rook's Rest means that she and Moondancer will be the ones to injure Aegon and Sunfyre. In the books this doesn't happen until much later, but we know neither Aegon nor his dragon will come out of this battle unscathed either... so maybe, just maybe, Baela and Moondancer fall on them in a rage after what happens between Meleys/Rhaenys and Vhagar/Aemond? It's just a thought. I guess it's just as likely that Rheanys tells her granddaughter to stay clear of the fighting and it's only after the other three dragons are down that she unleashes her fury on the poor solders on the ground - since it's obvious that's why Cole and the others are scrambling for the cover of the trees.
