My favorite line of the episode was actually Cregan saying to Jace "You, at least, had the mercy to not threaten me with your dragon.". Which is throwing some shade, at least; not to Jace, but Jaeharys. I like it because it implies the Targaryens are bullies basically threatening everybody with "Do as I say, or I'll end you", and that's the only reason they are monarchs. They named Jon Snow the king in the north because he actually garnered love and support from his bannermen. They weren't following him because they were threatened to.

I was disappointed that the Blood and Cheese thing didn't include the dialogue from the book. Recall that she points at the child who isn't the heir, and one of the characters looks at that kid and says something like "you see that? Your mother wants you dead.", before killing the other kid. @@emergencyawesome So the queen, the queen mother, the heir and the king's eldest daughter only get one king's guard? One would asume that at least one for Heleana's and the king's children (if not one for Haleana and another one for the children) and another one for Alicent. The bedrooms weren't so near to each other either, Heleana had to walk a decent amount to get to Alicent's chambers. And if not a king's guard because they are short cause some went to support Rhaenyra, at least assign other guards. In season 1 we saw how Criston Cole stood by Rhaenyra's bedroom door, presumably, the whole night, and they weren't even at war by that point. I think that they should have added some lesser guards outside the door for Blood and Cheese to kill, maybe catching them by surprise, that would have added more to the scene. But we got an empty castle with only one servant that run away with out making any noise. I still loved the episode, and maybe I'm nip picking but I don't get how the most important people to the king only get one guard. As good as Criston Cole may be, he can only be in a single place at one giving moment

Was I the only one who found this episode really boring? It’s supposed to have one of the bigger events of the series happening (blood and cheese) and they changed it and made it much less intense. got doesn’t usually shy away from child cruelty (shireen’s murder) so I was surprised they diluted the story so much. Wasn’t a fan of this episode. The whole Cole and Alicent plotline was ridiculous. I thought it was the Clubfoot under her skirts for a second. It would make more sense. Blood and Cheese on the show pales in comparison to the book. Alicent was in the room when it happened, the kids were wide awake, and the choice was between Jaherys and Maelor (son for a son) and they made Helena choose which would die. Also no Sarah Snow in the North. They took out all the good stuff and what they added wasn’t great. And where is Mushroom!!!

Before I watch your video does anyone else think the Blood&Cheese scene could have been more dramatic? The book version sure was. Making Helena choose then doing the other one. The writers had it right there on a silver platter. Were they worried it would be too shocking or disturbing? I guess so. Darn shame. I didn't expect them to show a childs head being chopped off but the whole scene was way too watered down. There was almost no tension and zero shock. The tension in the book was from making Helena choose. The shock from when he killed the other one. This had none of that. I think people should be pissed but they want to like it so badly that they give it a pass. Then they go directly to Alicient and Cole doing it. It was terrible actually.

Blood and cheese sneak in and if I remember correctly they catch Alicent, the queen, and her 3 kids, cheese makes Helena choose which son will be killed the older or younger. She doesn’t want to pick so cheese tells her if she doesn’t pick quickly blood will start 🍇ing her daughter in front of her. So she picks the younger son Maylor. Cheese then whispers to the boy you here that your mama wants you dead before giving blood the signal and he cuts off the older boy’s head instead killing Agons hair in front of them all and at least in the books driving Helena to madness cause she can’t even look at her youngest son and just kinda goes into this catatonic state

Is Maelor even around in the show? It seems like Helaena and Aegon only have 2 kids here. Red Wedding was a lot more traumatic. The people killed were all well-developed characters. Murdering a child is horrific but aside from that universal baseline, viewers don't have as much invested in baby Jaehaerys or Jaehaera.

I was more upset at the dog kick than the ending 😅 It was pretty underwhelming compared to the book. The fact Maelor isnt involved at all and won't remind his mother of the choice she made just by existing.. I dunno I feel robbed from a possible red wedding moment. It's kinda like if Vahgar would have simply biten of a wing and not swollowed the pair whole, yes same result but not as dramatic or scary. I did like that they left out vision and only vent with sounds for the death, I just wish they would have sticked more to the book during the event itself as it would in my take given more horrifying layers to it. With last episode season 1 I knew it was comming but I was still crying when it happened.

I thought they should have followed the book on the blood and cheese scene. Honestly, I found it pretty underwhelming after all the hype. Helena’s offering a necklace and then casually pointing out “the boy” was baffling. I just don’t get it, it could have been a “Red Wedding” type moment but it fell way short of being that.

All they needed to do was have a baby in a crib to be Maelor and have Helaena offer him up Overall though I did enjoy the episode. Getting to see inside the Dragonmount was rather cool. And while I may not be a big Daemon fan, I do agree that killing Vhagar should have been their priority.

Shereen's death is still one of the most messed up scenes. We watched a mother being forced to pick one child or lose both children. I think Stannis sacrificing his child for greed and watching her burn is the most horrific thing we have seen in this universe.
