Hey charlie, absolutely loved this season finale...the reference to the mutants as well as the '90s X-men theme, Brie Larson cameo, also in hinduism, the name "Kamala" means a lotus, something beautiful and strong that destined to thrive against all odds as it emerges from a muddy pond. I wonder if they'll make the X-men show from the '90s canon to the MCU Earth-616 somehow?

Reed Richards got his powers from a cosmic storm and has used them in the Fantastic Four's space adventures. Kamala has been to space before with her powers, and even got a shapeshifting alien suit that went rogue. She'd totally fit in in a space movie. Ms Marvel has a lot in common with Spiderman. The main difference is that Spiderman is an orphan so his family relationships aren't as central as they are in Kamala's life. Other than that they have the same good heart, they're street level heroes, and they're teenagers doing teenage stuff. You have no idea how hyped I was when Ms Marvel Team-up Vol 1 #1 was her and Spiderman. I'm still giddy thinking about it.

@@S1lverArr0w I had a theory that could have worked, bear with me. The mutants have been there all along (maybe not as many as the fox universe, but they're there). Fury already knows about them, but he keeps them off the radar after making a deal with Prof. X. The X-Men are allowed to continue to work on mutant issues, as long as they play by Shields rules and do a secret mission or two. With Prof X. using Cerebro to basically hide X-men from humanity, and Fury using his black ops links to keep mutant battles away from the limelight, they have managed to exist on an invisible scale. Ms. Marvel has now opened the door for people to see mutants, they will have no idea that they were trying to stay hidden, and accidentally reveal mutants to the world.

I was thinking based on Danvers' reactions staring at her hands and saying "Oh, no, no, no..." like there was something that happened that went wrong wherever she was before switching places. I don't know if there is anything like that in the comics, but I am purely basing that off of my interpretation of her reaction to what happened in the scene. I suspect Danvers knows at least something about what happened to cause this. If the Kree had the other bangle that would maybe make some sense in this line of thinking but why were her fingers glowing and why would it switch her instead of whoever activated it. Did someone direct it at her like some kind of weapon? So many questions leaving me looking much more forward to the upcoming marvels movie than before

The story seemed kind of all over the place. They had me for the first half, then all the Jin stuff comes up. Okay, it’s different but after that it all just felt directionless. Kamran was clearly the aggressor and the fact that he and everyone just walks away…it’s just getting hard to stay in it sometimes. I will say, I like the actress and I want to like the show. Maybe a season 2 or movie will better tell her stories. First season was a bit rough around the edges.

Such a great series. Kevin Smith was saying this series is doing for the Partition what Watchmen did for the Tulsa massacre and I agree. I don’t know if I agree that Kamron is a mutant too because Bruno made a point to note that Kamala is different from the other Noor but still another excellent video Charlie.

Bruno never got to test other Noor people except Kamala's family. the fact he has powers implies he's a mutant or something to do with his mother consciousness within him. TBH we won't see him for the next 4 years in the MCU who cares?🤷♂️

@@hihowareya4004 right, I missed that … my bad. Still, considering Najma is fully a light dimension being and she manipulated the light to send it to Kamran I think that proves that his powers aren’t likely to be a product of mutant genetics but rather Noor genes. I think Kamala’s mutant genes allows her to control it unlike Kamran and means it doesn’t hurt her the way it does Kamran, as for the Bangle I think that just unlocked the power.

Interesting that they've made Kamala a mutant after the whole thing of Jeoph Loeb trying to make Inhumans the equivalent of Mutants in the MCU. I didn't catch the cartoon theme during that mutation reveal although I did in Doctor Strange. Not having been a fan of the animated series I am looking forward to seeing how the X-Men are handled in live action. Thanks Charlie!

This episode really show me the departement of damage control in a new light. Until know they were the 'bad governement', but look at this episode and count how many people (including civilians) would end dying (or at least severly hurt) fighting Kamaran without Kamala intervention. You can argue all you want Kamaran was defending himself, but he didn't shy away from attacking violently (while Kamala only focused on defense). DoDC have a point : Teenagers with powers = Big problem. Now add the fact they have to fight with one arm tied in the back because they are agains kids who probably are not in control of themselves... and of course they are governement, it cannot help. I really hope for a 'Agents of shield' reboot with DoDC instead. Focusing on the difficulties of being the bad guy who save the world in the background, on street at a time.

Honestly, this was a good series and a great ending. Kudos to everyone at Marvel! I have no complaints with The changes they made to the character. Excited that the mutants are finally in the MCU and I'm fine that it starts with her. I'm thinking that we're going to get at least one more teaser and one of the upcoming Marvel shows or movies before the Marvels comes out.

Great video as always Charlie! Just a quick correctioni wanted to add. The name KAMALA comes from the Arabic word PERFECT. However the "MARVEL" meaning comes from the URDU word "KAMAAL" which means, astounding, amazing and MARVEL. So in effect the Arabic letters (which we use in Urdu also) spell K-M-A-L-A (Kamala كماله) And in Urdu MARVEL is K-M-A-L (kamaal كمال) And the way They used the first letter of her name in Arabic (kaaf) when her necklace broke to become her emblem was cool also.. Hope that helps!!

Kamran's powers pulsed a lot like the particle of one of the Ten Rings in that movie's post credit scene. I wonder where this show fits in the timeline compared to that, and if it had anything to do with what happened in the Ms Marvel post credit scene? The part where they said it looks like a beacon, like it's sending a signal. A signal to where? or to whom?

It could be a X-gene or it could be the fact that she has Djinn DNA also. The bangle may have also modified her DNA thru the noor also when she first put it on when the bangle chose her. Just as the infinity stone altered Carol Danver's DNA and gave her powers or the radiated spider altered Peter Parker's DNA. I believe she is only as mutated as the Inhumans are mutated as in her original comic-book origin. i believe the bangle may be somewhat sentient.

It was shocking for Bruno to say the word "Mutation", but it is a little conflicting. Mutants and Mutations are not the same......and I hope they distinguish that. I also think that Rom's powers, that came from his mom, is a combination of her powers and the expanse of the Veil.....which I think is why he had issues with containing it.

The scene where they are surrounded by Damage Control at the school and everyone in the community goes there to help (thanks to Zoe) reminded me of some raids I've seen in the UK to deport immigrants, were the whole community goes there to stop the police in an act of great kindness towards others that might even be total strangers, it was one of my favourite scenes in this episode. I didn't see anyone commenting, but in the last take in the credit scene there is a pattern in yellow with a X with the star.. Look at 18:07 in this video and you can see a X just like the design of House of X ... since the first episode. The name BRYAN... the first "person" who said mutation in MCU could be a reference of Bryan Singer, the first mutant director.

I'm totally confused about this. Would Ms. Marvel always have the x-gene regardless of her ancestry? Or is it because she's a descendant of the Clandestine that she has the x-gene? It seems to me that they're trying to explain mutants as offspring of beings from other dimensions. If that's not the case, then what the heck are they doing here? Don't get it.
@TWD777102 жыл бұрын
Exactly like I'm confused asf why no one talking about this?
@DReppin20092 жыл бұрын
They might be linking mutants to beings exposed to a certain cosmic energy, and their familial bloodline all having the mutant gene, so it's highly likely her brother and mom have the gene. Time will tell though.
@murk45522 жыл бұрын
She doesn't have the X-Gene, Mutates are those with powers due to scientific phenonema - like a spider bite, gamma ray exposure, etc. Mutants are just the general descriptor for those with the X-gene mutation. So the X-Men are a type of mutant, not the only variation of them.
@DReppin20092 жыл бұрын
@@murk4552 regardless of the terminology, it's confirmed that she'll at least be classified as a mutant. So whatever transformation she has gone through due to her genetic mutation, it'll be the same as the X-Men. She'll be considered a mutant in the MCU. You're probably right about the X Gene stuff, but I don't expect that to come about for some time. They'll probably go in a different angle since mutants and the X gene aren't prominent in the MCU yet, specifically in the main timeline.
@minhocho49092 жыл бұрын
I wonder if they’ll give her her comic book powers after The Marvels. Presumably, the Noor powers aren’t her X-Gene powers, right? Otherwise it’d be strange for it to have to be unlocked by the Bangle, Kamran getting similar powers, and Aisha being able to use the same ones with the Bangle as well.
@abebuckingham81982 жыл бұрын
No I don't think so. I think she'll use her power to imitate her comic book powers going forward. The problem with stretchy powers is that you have to edit the pictures frame by frame and account for things like lighting. By comparison her Noor powers can be drawn directly over the image, or even drawn in advance then edited to fit the footage. It's also its own light source so you avoid a lot of the problems that come from lighting. She's done the big hand catch, the big fist, and Embiggen so far which are all classic moves from her original powers. the light disks she walks on have replaced her long stretchy legs and she now can create sheltering constructs instead of using her body as a shield but I haven't seen her do anything she couldn't do before. So even if the powers are different, she's essentially using them in the same way. As a longtime Ms Marvel fan I was a little put off at first by the change but after seeing the series I feel they've done an excellent job of sticking to her original powers despite the fact they made changes for technical reasons.
@minhocho49092 жыл бұрын
I see what you’re saying, but we’re gonna have Mr. Fantastic anyway. And like I said, it’d be weird if her Mutant powers are exactly the same as anyone tied to the Clandestine dimension.
@harrisont20042 жыл бұрын
So to recap, the bangle was found on a Kree arm in a Ten Rings temple and it activated a mutant gene in a descendant of a Clandestine so she could access the Noor? Wow I have no idea what the full explanation of this is but it seems to tie in a lot of different corners of the MCU.
@BrotherKnowledge.2 жыл бұрын
Despite Mutants being hinted at, I still think that she is going to turn out to be an InHuman anyways. Because in a way, Inhumans are a mutation as well - just one created artificially from Kree experimentation and not a natural one.

The X-Gene is not really natural either - the Celestials are responsible for it (and obviously it utterly fails at real evolution since a lot of mutations that the X-Men have, such as Rogue or Cyclops, would not help in survival at all)
@BrotherKnowledge.2 жыл бұрын
@@thesurf9490 Fair. I just think that the X-Men theme was another nod to the X-Men/Mutant mention, but not necessarily due to *her* being or becoming a Mutant. But, like you, I also don't know. 🤷🏾♂️

@@mariomouse8265 But the building blocks of life on Earth in Marvel's 616 universe were created by the vomit of a Celestial (the Progenitor) in the first place. A billion years after that, the Harcesters merged cells on Earth with parasites from meteors, creating now organisms. After that, TWE (That Which Endures) manifested his own intelligence in random creatures ofmcer 100,000 years, pushing forward "evolution." Sometime later, Gaea infused her life essence to all living things. And some time later after that, the Xorrians created humankind from their own DNA. And a number of other aliens had a hand in forming today's Hans as well. So technically... Humankind isn't natural in itself, either. Making humans in the same boat as Inhumans and Mutants. Some aliens stepped in multiple times and in multiple ways to move humanity forward. So Marvel humans are natural, either. 🤷🏾♂️
