I hope they're not killing Thula off. Sure, she was a minor character in the comics, but using her hair with a knife on the end as a weapon makes her distinct from all the other Viltrumites who just use their feet and hands. And a Viltrumite probably should be able to survive that amount of damage. Honestly, this is probably about what she looked like in the comics when Battle Beast smashed her face with his mace and used her unconscious body as a second club against the other Viltrumites. (The panels afterward only showed the back of her head, so I can't say for sure.) And she recovered from that just fine.

This is a really interesting series. It feels like I am watching Vegeta trying to teach Trunks (who is also a human hybrid with enormous potential) how to be a ruthless Saiyan to prepare against the coming conflict. Its a really amazing father son dynamic.

They really stepped it up this episode, Omni Man journey through space after S1, trying to reconnect with Mark and him coming to grips with compassion for the Thraxans was very compelling. They built up the anticipation so well that I only cared about the Mark and Nolan's scenes. Every Viltrumites voice was intimidating and the dialogue was a window to their outlook making me curious to see their upbringing/back stories. The only problem I have is that some of they animation felt choppy in some of the fight. I did like Donald's discovery of him being a clone but it was a bit unbelievable that the glasses of his old version survived the explosion last season. Nonetheless I am excited for what is to come. 👌🏾👌🏾

I really do love humanizing Omniman when debbie asked the question to his grave 'Did he do it to hurt someone' the answer is no most of the time we don't mean to hurt our loved ones but it happens and as the victim you can believe they did it on purpose to hurt you but its usually more complex than that. Saying that it doesn't excuse it or make Omniman a good guy but I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of his story and I love invincible for the deep stories.

This episode was crazy but in the best way possible, Nolan conflicted over feeling so much for the Thraxians and his new family, and caring for Mark in his own way. Loved the fight between Eve with Kill Canon, but best of all Mark throwing hands, and holding his own for the most part despite the ass whooping his father gave him. Shows he learned something. Sucks we gotta wait awhile for episode 5, I need more! Also, what were the songs they played in this episode? They were pretty amazing and fitting of the scenes being depicted.

The man with the invincible gun is direct reference to Space racer and his weapon who might even be pictured on the book. The beast world book I would assume is referring the where the Ragnars live (a beast strong enough to kill viltrumites ) excited for where everything is going !

Those who haven't read comics, you have absolutely no idea how good it is going to get. (Spoilers) My one of the favourite parts from the comics is the Viltrumite prison phase, of (now heavily buffed after his beat down by the Viltrumites) Allen finding Nolan and Battle Beast there, Allen befriending Nolan and becoming bffs, Allen wrecking the prison facility built to contain several Viltrumites like a house of cardboards, like basically it took just one punch, Nolan and Allen watching Battle Beast go psycho on a Viltrumite and Nolan saying to Allen, "Is this guy real?" (Imagine a top-tier Viltrumite saying that, Battle Beast had went feral.) And then him recruiting Battle Beast and Nolan and taking them to the Coalition. I mean the whole story upto where Nolan fights Mark and leaves Earth seems mundane to what happens in the rest of the story, but if that part getting animated in season 1 was received this good, I can only imagine how much commotion this show will make with the future seasons.

The scene where he meets his dad is nothing like it is in the comics, yes in both they hug, but in the comic he begs his dad to come home. Here he cusses him out, tells him he hates him, and tells him multiple times to go f himself, the two scenes couldn’t be more different. In this one he hugged him cause he has so many different and conflicting and contradictory emotions swirling around inside him. In the comic he was happy to see him, didn’t even bring up almost getting beaten to death or how Nolan treated Debby, this was much much better than the comic.

@@23Raind so he should take the fact that his father, the man who raised him and supposedly loved him (who spent the entirety of his life lying to him, who used him to kill thousands, called his mom a pet, and proceeded to beat him near to death) not killing him as an act of love? I’m sorry but no, even now when he’s “reformed” he gaslit and lied to Mark again to help him fix a situation that he got into. He’s been a Viltrumite soldier for thousands of years. He knew what would happen if he mated with the thraxxans and conceived a child, he knew what would happen if he stayed. And yet he played on Marks empathy and kindness to help him try and fix things. At this point in the comics he’s still a complete piece of shit, he even tells Mark that he came to this planet to conquer it, in the hopes that the Viltrumites would spare him if they he gave them this planet and it’s people instead. And he admits that he came to Thraxa a week after leaving earth. Whereas in the show it’s clearly been months. They even adjusted the length of time Thraxans live in the show to compensate. In the show and the comic at this point Omni Man is still a piece of shit, you’re speaking with meta knowledge and hindsight, Mark doesn’t know any of that shit about the Viltrumites, cause he only got the bare minimum about what they are actually like in the final episode of last season. His reaction in the show is much closer to reality and how an actual person would actually react. Kirkman himself had said that this show is his opportunity to correct mistakes he made in the comics, and Marks reaction to seeing Omni Man was one of those mistakes.

In the comics, Nolan wasn't as brutal and sadistic as in the show. For example, the train scene never happened in the comic, nor the scene with the rescued pilot, so Mark had less anger towards Nolan.

Yes, well, I never said he was kind and gentle. He was a soldier who did what he had to do, with ruthless efficiency, but without the sadism he displayed in the show. Train and pilot scenes were really over the top. That should have been more Conquest's methods.@@matthewterlaga3022
