a lot of games intentually do that to help with performance 4:31

That is certainly true, but most games also tend to load a higher detail LOD for that render distance. Honestly given the performance issues myself and many others face, it might not be fair of me to criticize the fact that LOD settings could use some work. I should be happy its in at all, some indie devs would just load the full detail models at all distances. But I tend to nitpick EmergeNYC because I see so much potential which has never really been utilized to the perfect extent.

a lot of game trailers are animated and not the game at all thats probably how 33:02

Well in the case of EmergeNYC they use in game footage from multiplayer sessions. Honestly the performance issues seem like they could be related to a specific piece of hardware Raf doesn't test for and there could be some incompatibilities there. But the gulf in performance is pretty massive.

It looks so good, but I wish you something like emergency 4. Where you could just have a lake M p c is to add to the crew that is just one person doing everything you just order people to do stuff , so mix it more lived in with multiple Firefighters to make it more interesting yeah just thought of it

That’s interesting. My thought on procedural generation are that if done right they can really enhance a game. What you need is plenty of prefabs so they don’t look repetitive, along with a really good algorithm that organizes them in a believable and fun way. Daggerfall had random generation and that was used to fill in a MASSIVE world (thanks to mods with the game ported to Unity people can fix numerous issues and throw in lots of cool stuff that makes the world feel truly alive). It tend to work best with sandbox games like Minecraft, Cube World (Alpha, not the Steam release that betrayed everything people liked about the game), No Man’s Sky (post dumpster fire launch), and others. Starfield is an example of this done the wrong way, and the whole appeal of a Bethesda game was so you could get lost in hand crafted world with plenty of fun side activities (after Morrowind their stories took a considerable nosedive, but they went all in with hand crafted worlds). A mashup of hand crafted elements and procedural generation to fill in the gaps can really enhance a game.

Yeah, usually because I play solo and I try to keep the video times in the 20-30 minute range where possible. I usually don't worry about realism as much.

What type of computer do you have because cause it’s running really good like no lag
@ODSTGeneralYT8 ай бұрын
3070 for the graphics card AMD Ryzen 9 3900x 64 GB of G.Skill Ripjaw Ram AND running the game on SSD. Also its not lag, lag would be a latency issue from internet. Its low frames resulting from performance issues due to poor optimization and if you read the comments of youtube, steam, etc. around the game you will see it's a fairly common problem which usually gets the response of play the game on low settings. How can I run Star Citizen on high quality settings, versus a game that released in like 2014(?) That I am lucky to get 30 FPS on high moderate settings. I might give Raf and Flipswitch slack because as a small studio they can't afford 30 different PCs of varying builds to test the game on. But given the responses people who have complained about poor performance have received I suspect Raf is largely indifferent to it.
