I own one of these. After owning & using it for almost 10 months now, this is my opinion of this fryer. The stainless sheet metal the sides are kind of flimsy. You can fry food for one person at a time. Even though it takes a lot of oil, unfortunately the element sitting more than inch off of bottom takes a lot of the frying space. You actually fill this sucker to about 4" from the bottom, if you put more in it, when you flip that leaver in the front to send the oil to the plastic container underneath, it will over spill all over the place. It's very bulky, a big waste of valuable counter top realty.

When you do filter the oil how fast does it drain for y’all? I’ve been letting it sit for 3 hours and it’s only drained about half way

The filtration is a good idea, but that plastic container is really hard to clean oil off of. Not to mention the plastic *warps* so the lid won't fit properly. I've had oil spill out as I was pouring it back in the fryer, _wasting_ it. You're much better off buying a different fryer that has a tube at the bottom of the fryer to drain oil and just filter it yourself. It's not that much more difficult or time consuming. Plus another fryer similar in oil capacity and wattage will actually probably be cheaper.

Here's a weird question for you - anyone . Has anyone else used this model for carburetor cleaning in your garage ? I do , pretty good results . ONLY at the lowest temperature setting . Never for food again ! What do you think ?

I don't know if it's junk or not but i'd rather have a stainles steel fryer basket than an teflon or aluminum or some other potential health hazard type.

i have the same fryer. its a flimsy piece of junk! oh and btw the brand is tristar, they have just rebranded it to make it seem good

Walmart has this without Emril's name on it. The went back to dial controls on the one at Walmart.

Magnetic plugs SUCK. I had three different brands short out. Buy a Waring 1800watt with a permanent cord and you will be very happy.
