Be interesting to do a flipper delete on one of these. Still get the bearing advantage for a super smooth and fast thumb disc deployment but you then get to hold it like a normal CQC7, closer to the blade.

Oh shizzle, it has been a long time since I got a new Emerson, this knife had such potential, such potential, until it all came crashing down!

WeAllJuggleKnives exactly how I feel with just a little modification from the original it could have been fixed or just maybe the 7 wasn't the best option to make a flipper

Do you know if every CQC-7 flipper does this?

I wish I was born and raised in a geographical location were the only reason I carried a knife was just to fondle and play with it. I have carried and “used” this knife and I have never experienced this problem. you must have some serious crazy grip strength.

Emerson....Still the best hard use folder on the planet... Never had to use their warranty and my knife was made in 2001. I've sent in ZT, Medford, hinder, spyderco, and Microtech

Benchmade striker or benchmade 570, vector? Mainly between the first two tho.

Do you find it cutting better than the Emerson v-chisel grinds like the one on cqc13? Also Emerson knives usually has two detects, one on each sides but I found that they don't line up with the whole on the blade very well.
@irishsavage8715
@irishsavage8715 8 жыл бұрын
Iamthedudeman00 depends on what you cut and how often you need to sharpen. In my opinion the chisel grind is the easiest blade to sharpen, but Vega Ryan has its benefits.

Lugermonger Did you ever get ahold of Emerson about this failure? I appreciate all your reviews and this review has kept me away from the Emerson folders thus far.

I have had mine for about a week now and cannot replicate this issue. This knife is as solid as my CQC-7B, and a lot faster. Maybe you just got a lemon...or it's not a real Emerson. IDK

The lock feature is a design flaw, that have been known about the CQC7. Sending it to Emerson probably won't solve the problem.

That flipper tab is huuge! The wrong way chisel cut is so weird and I have no idea why its like that
@Lugermonger35
@Lugermonger35 8 жыл бұрын
CedricAda Gear and Outdoors the Chisel grind being reversed is actually really good for like tactical fighting purpose but that's really it and I know on the size of the tab right I've got knives that flip just as well with a 1/5 eyes tab the stopping protection it gives his cool though I guess

Considering the knife was made specifically for the Navy SEALs, for fighting, it works exactly like it's designed.

i use a hammer grip to fight with typically. Yup fail and thx. for pointing it out. the flip side is that Emerson always has some off points that make it less than it should be so far as quality control being consistent across the board so far as centering and other issues in their line. i can't get how they don't do better considering how popular they are. so many folks just pass them by who want to buy one but don't because of various issues. company stupid as fuck imho. nobody wants to roll the dice on whether they will get a knife that will be off more likely than not at least not me.

Using a hammer grip with your thumb on the outside? And putting pressure on the spine to force it closed on your hand? What he said and showed makes zero sense please help me to understand.

TekNyc74 I think it's the shape of my hand I've got some pretty fat long fingers and it only happens in the hammer grip I don't think there's anything actually wrong with the knife itself
