Emerson, Lake & Palmer perform "Pictures At An Exhibition" live in Montreal in 1977. This footage is from the "Works: Orchestral Tour". Shot on August 26, 1977 at Montreal's famed Olympic Stadium.
Emerson, Lake & Palmer, also known as ELP, are a sporadically active English progressive rock supergroup. They found success in the 1970s and have sold over forty million albums and headlined large stadium concerts. The band consists of Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (bass guitar, vocals, guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion). They are one of the most popular and commercially successful progressive rock bands.

The folks in charge of Hall Of Fame can't comprehend this kind this music. It's lost on them. They have no idea. A lot of us have been listening to ELP, Yes, King Crimson and the rest for 50 years. They're in my DNA. Who cares what the critics think?

The RR Hall of Fame needs an enema! Greed and politics have filled it with flash-in-the-pan commercial waste. Everything ELP ever did is an unmatched tribute to the world of rock and music. There is no equal nor is there anybody to compare them to.

We'll never know what Mussorgsky would have thought of ELP's adaptation of his piece but I like to think he would have delighted in hearing wood and brass clashing with cybernetic electromagnetics!

No one tops them, no one. And this particular performance is absolutely flawless. The only part I'm missing is when Keith's Hammy screams like an angry cat but the orchestra is drowning it. Otherwise this one is pretty much as perfect as it can get. I love them so so much. Skills...unmatched ❤

I’ve been an ELP fan since I was a teenager. I’m now in my very late 40’s. Seeing these videos reminds me just how awesome they still are! As a drummer, I was lucky enough to see Carl Palmer play with Asia back in 2012 or 13. Sadly, I was too young to have seen ELP in the 70’s.

That made up for it 😸Hardest working, best drummer in the biz. That was a real treat if anyone caught that show. Rest in peace Keith and Greg, thank you all for the most beautiful music that has ever graced this planet. You will live in our hearts forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We all live our ordinary lives, maybe boring. But every now and then, there's a blinding light that reminds us of why we're all still here. ELP are (were) that light (among many others in that generation). Greg had this pure, angelic voice. Keith was just pure wizardry, what he did was beyond normal human ability. And then you have Carl... Maybe the best drummer of all time. But at least no one else could work with elp he could

absolutely the best - I was there - I have seen big names in rock and pop and jazz - and seen ELP 6 times in concert and that concert was just something else - everyone was just blown away - by all three - Carl's solo mind blowing and Keith just amazed and Greg with such awesome melodies - to bad kids of today just don't know but about ELP - always classical - I heard them first in 1975 and got hooked and still love them as much as then -

+igetsmart kids in the past 20 years haven't know what real music is! It's all compartmentalized and pretty much sounds the same in any compartment! Even the music from the 70's that was rock is now put in different compartments!!????! Hence, "That Metal Show" which I watch from time to time! Music they call "heavy metal" we called "Head Music"! Good high! Go figure!?? 70's Music will always rule! How Lucky We Are!!!! Rock really Rocked then!!!!!!!!

Quando il rock reinventa la musica classica vengono fuori cose interessanti. Magari possono anche non piacere (questo brano a me sembra un po' noioso, mi ci perdo) ma penso che il coraggio e la creatività siano sempre da apprezzare.
