I always bashed this band without truly knowing much about them besides their appearance but after watching this video i can truly see why I bashed them in the first place . these types of riffs are the same riffs you make in your bedroom after playing for a few months . the solos are short and out of place . the resort to sweeping out of key and use of basic fucking scales just sum up this band and their fans entirely. a bunch of girly fucking guys who think they're hardcore but look and play like shit . congratulations for providing me more insight to why this band is truly and utterly shit, thank you.

@@nsfrager Apparently anything that isn't 967bpm blast beats done in 9/6 time is "generic" and "poser shit". Smh I for one happen to enjoy music that doesn't sound like a band ran into the studio, smashed all their instruments against the console, and released that as a debut EP. I like nice chuggy riffs combined with melodic elements and fast-paced drums. I don't know what about that combination causes people to scream "POSEEEERRRRR!!!" at the top of their lungs, but I hope these guys keep going a good long while. It's fun to watch the insecure males attempt to hide their jealousy of a band they claim to hate.

The one thing BVB haters don't understand is the level of skill these guitarists in particular have. Almost every song this band has written with Jinx and Jake is technical, harmonic, and sounds awesome. I listen to the band mostly because of this duo, no matter what the guitars are on point. I like Faithless lyrically and musically, but for example in the song The Legacy, The lyrics and vocals are under par in my opinion, but the guitars are phenomenal and therefore worth the time to learn each individual guitar part. I of course admire Christians ability on the drums and Andy's vocals, their last album was a great one for Andy, I hope he continues his positive evolution as a songwriter and lyricist, he has the chops and youth to do amazing things if he keeps his head right.

The parts are written well. They’re good at rhythm by their solos need work particularly with vibrato. They just sustain the notes instead of putting vibrato which is something amateurs do because perfect vibrato is difficult to master. It took me 8 years to get it right

Honeestly I only listen to them bc of their riffage and breakdowns, those are sick, same as the riff harmonies and ballads. But to be fair jakes solos are rather forgettable except in the ballads, and the lead harmonies are just kinda meh in my opinion. No doubt tho that christian is a sick drummer and andy has a great voice, if even it's a rather pop like voice except for his sick screaming which just sounds awesome. Jake and jinxx playing riffs together is the main reason I listen to bvb

It’s a shame that this band is looked down upon due to the fact that their early-mid career (of the time they’ve been active so far) landed right in the late 2000s to early 2010s at the last stages and tail end of the huge emo and scene wave that was happening at that time. A lot of teenage girls loved them (especially Andy) for fitting right into that community. So because the world hates subcultures and anything they don’t see as ‘normal’ and because they also hate teenage girls and like to downplay and demean everything they like, lots of genuinely great things like BVB ended up, and still end up wrongfully hated and dismissed. Both Jake and Jinxx are great guitarists, you can tell they have real passion for music and they are incredibly good at what they do. BVB 4 (2014) is my favourite album of theirs and in MY OPINION (you don’t have to agree 😂) their best album to date. It’s truly a great album to listen through from start to finish and after 8 years I’m still holding firm onto that opinion. It’s just sad to me that a lot of people won’t listen to it because of their preconceived notions and irrational hatred and dismissal. I was a huge fan of them back in the early 2010s, and although I’m not a super fan anymore and I don’t keep up with them anymore, I still have all my fav songs of theirs, and the whole of BVB 4 on one of my playlists and I make a point to periodically check if they’ve released new music so I can give it a listen. That’s the sign of good artists to me. If you can make consistently good music to the point that listeners check on you and still listen to your music over the years, then you’re golden. More people should set aside their prejudices and give them a chance.

Actually, I'm a guitarist myself and fun fact about the sustaniac neck pickup, it's wired to pickup the sounds from the bridge pickup. So In Jake's case there it's basically like having 2 EMG 81 pickups

He formed the band but his voice is not anything special. A large portion of the Electric guitar work is fantastic as well as the drums, but the singer in many ways lets them down. That is why. Though recently his voice is becoming cleaner and he can sing higher (As shown by their latest song, the outsider)

Can't believe all these years later that people give these guys crap. Black Veil Brides are a great band, I've loved them for over a decade. I also listen to CKY, Acid Bath, Death, Children of Bodom, Avatar, Kiss, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Pantera, Down, etc. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed to say I like these guys. Is it metal? No. Is it good? Yes! We can agree to disagree but one thing we shouldn't do is belittle their fan base or try and act like these guys can't shred. If Jake and Jinxx were in any other band people would love them. It's just a fact.

The tone when he switches to the sustainiac is pretty bad, wish it sounded better but I guess its a bit of a sacrifice for the sustain feature. Besides that Jake's tone was great. IMO Jinx's was a little mediocre, but not bad.

its not the sustaniac feature it is the actual neck he switches from bridge to neck not the sustainiac function of it. but as much as i like jake he screwed up the solo this time he usually does it perfect but everyone messes up from time to time

IMO if it wasn't for the sustain feature he probably wouldn't have it anyway. The 85 and 81 both sound better in the bridge position.
