Not a fan of the guitar but good god almighty this guy is still fucking amazing. Like Jeff Loomis said, "He's a guitar guru and the dude you could learn the most about guitar from." I just wish i had his ability, chops, interpretation and just be as great as him. And i have a long list of favorite guitar players that I'd love to switch with but none as much as Marty Friedman. Second maybe John Petrucci then Paul Gilbert or Jeff Loomis.

haha i actually got to asked him that question in his clinics. he mentioned that reason why is not because he started picking like that, when he first started or anything its actually because he prefers the notes to ring rather than palm mute , the only time he palm mutes is when he's riffing and when he does his vibratos, he mutes and use a finger to flick his bends
