I need to take you up to that section. It is gorgeous in the spring. Sure wish we could have gone up this Fall, but fires and weather were not kind to us this year!

LOL! With the exception of day 2, we had great weather - although it was pretty hot for a few days. Fortunately, we finished up before all the wildfires went crazy. Thanks for watching!

This was my favorite section of the trail - although it had the LONGEST water carry (20+ miles). But the views were amazing, and the wildflowers profuse. I'm planning to knock out the JMT this summer, and then I'm heading up your way for some amazing scenery!

that was so beautiful to see, it reminded me of our time on the JMT, all the stunning views, the huge trees, the beautiful wildflowers... I miss it. I know how physically demanding this was for you... but the memories are always something you cherish. I rejoiced with you when you got to the end!

I was grateful of the wildflowers we had. We are in a severe drought and they aren't as plentiful this year. Can't beat those views though. Thanks so much for watching!

Another great trail, with great views and I was going to say great weather, which it was until Day 2! Good to see the bad weather did not hang around and nice to look back on this great through hike. I think if you can hike 13 days and only get 1 bad days weather that's a win for me. I could be wrong but you may have been a tad excited about getting to the end.....Cheers Alan
@MaryannHazel3 жыл бұрын
Although I was a tad excited about finishing, I'm already having hiking withdrawals. LOL! I actually kinda like sketchy weather - just not when I'm hiking up on a ridge. But the cooler weather was very welcome because the rest of the hike was HOT! Thanks so much for watching!

That's quite the hike, holy guacamole! Gorgeous views, incredible camp spots, decent weather most of the way... but I honestly don't know if I could handle hiking for 13 days solid. I probably wouldn't be a fun hiking companion, I'd end up complaining too much! LOL Well done!
@MaryannHazel3 жыл бұрын
I will admit the first few days were...an adjustment. LOL! But I swear it got easier after day 4. I think it takes that long to get your trail legs - or at least work out all the soreness from hiking with a heavy pack. It was so great at the end that I want to hike a longer trail in the next backpacking season. Thanks so much for watching!

Absolutely beautiful and awesome views. Looked like you had some hail. I also recognized a snow plant. Lol
@MaryannHazel3 жыл бұрын
LOL! Just a few inches of hail. Thank goodness we made it into some tree cover before it hit. The snow plants were awesome. There was one spot on the north side of the lake that was like a snow plant field. They were everywhere - and the most I've ever seen in one place. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! It was quite the epic adventure. I’m so glad I got to hike it when I did. The trail closed a few weeks ago due to the Calder fire and several sections have been burned. Really sad about that…it will be a long time before those sections recover. Thanks for watching!

This trail is on my bucket list. What time of year did you do the trail? How many miles did you average every day?

We started on June 23rd and finished early morning on July 5th. Our shortest day was 12 miles and our longest was around 17. Most days were around 14 miles. It is an amazing trail!
