late may 2023 probably going to look a lot different, ya think?

I don't think the road to Crabtree TH will be open until mid/late June this year given the snow. It's definitely going to be different in 2023.

@@wellseasonedhiker yeah, do you know where they close the road? Is it right after Pioneer trail campground? I haven’t been the emigrant wilderness but some friends of mine and myself are doing the 45mile loop Emigrant Lower Loop in august. I really want to get out there for a few over nights to test out some new gear, the seasons delay is killing me! Hahah but it’s good we need all that snow and water! Thanks again for your videos!

@@matthewstouppe2782 Don't know exactly but I do know that the road opens up to the Kerrick Horse Camp earlier than Crabtree and you can hike through Pine Valley up to Grouse Lake and beyond ...my guess is that could open by early June but wow, this is a lot of snow this year. Hard to say exactly.

gorgeous place! I'm heading up there this weekend do you know approx how many miles it is from lily lake to Piute lake? Thanks
@wellseasonedhiker Жыл бұрын
Lilly Lake? You mean that lake on the mini-pass with the Lily Pads in it? If so, that's a little more than 2 miles. Looks like the snow has melted so river crossings shouldn't be too bad.

@@wellseasonedhiker Yes, thanks for the info!

Did you cross any creeks on the way to Buck Lake?
@wellseasonedhiker Жыл бұрын
This was a year ago but it was early season. The most challenging/deep creek crossing early season would be Cherry Creek. By now that's easily passable, I'm sure. Actually, at this elevation it might even be a trickle by now.

no bugs late may?
@wellseasonedhiker Жыл бұрын
Wow, sorry for the late response. I guess it would depend on season. For example I wouldn't expect bugs late may this year. 😁

@@wellseasonedhiker hahah yeah just a bunch of snow probably! 😳 have you been to immigrant wilderness yet this year? I hear there is snow at 6000ft and higher but it’s warm during the day but cooler at night still
@wellseasonedhiker Жыл бұрын
@@matthewstouppe2782 Not this year. Heading up to Chilnualna Falls on 6/1. Was in Yosemite a couple weeks ago...snow level there was about 6K'. Trailheads in Emigrant are still closed which would mean lots of road/snow hiking just to get to the trailhead.

Any fish in those lakes?(asking for a friend)
@wellseasonedhiker2 жыл бұрын
I'd ask Jim Lowe. He's got a You Tube channel and he's the Emigrant fishing expert. I don't fish. 🤪

Nice video! I was up there a couple weeks later with a friend and we stayed at Gem and Wire Lakes from Crabtree. You rocking a Durston 1P tent?

@@WestOfTwinPeaks Yeah, Got the 1P earlier this year and will be using it all season. So far so good.
