Where is your group from? I’m a Bay Area backpacker, and have been going to the emigrant since 2008. Last year we did west fork of cherry and Rosasco. I’d love to get out there more this year, and even try the early season, as you did on this trip!

Yeah, Emigrant is an excellent early season, quick access area for those of us in the Bay Area. Really enjoyable hiking without any real long climbs. I generally head here for an early season warm up hike. So many beautiful places!
