Amazing. Emily is getting better and better, it is such a joy to listen to her music. The version of "Northern Lights" she plays here may be the best I ever heard. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for posting this and many of Emily's videos. Great to see the progression in her musical career. She is a nice and very talented young lady.

I heard also that Emily had piano training from Emilio del Rosario, who is regrettably, because of his illness, is unable to teach at all. I was also a student of Emilio del Rosario. I feel so sorry about this beloved piano teacher. Very good job, Emily, still, and keep up all of your good music that we so dearly love!

Thank you for making this edited video of Emily on GMA. I believe there were 2 other clips of Emily playing Jazz pieces that would be great to see if you can upload them to you tube. I sure wish that GMA could have done a better job showcasing her amazing talent.

She's really well spoken for a 6 year old. Extremely well spoken for a 6 year old. You would have a hard time getting that lucid of a response out of many people regardless of age.

I understand emily won an ascap award for her composition of northern lights, I loved it. I have heard her play it other times though and in the middle part there were more notes than she played here. Maybe she was a bit nervous. But no doubt she is a great pianist, but she seems so much wiser than her years.

Wow I don't mean to be rude, but whenever she goes on shows like these, they talk to her like she's 2 or something. If she's old enough to play those, she's old enough to understand. She's beyond amazing, God-given talent. Talk to her like a human, not a baby.
@felicityholmes90728 жыл бұрын
That's where you are dead wrong. Because a child has an exceptional talent, it does not make them an adult.
@mjjfan0829588 жыл бұрын
+Felicity Holmes Lol okay, not "dead wrong." She's not two years old, and they talk to her like she is. I didn't say she was an adult though. I agree about the adult thing though.

to think, emily bear's music at 7 years old won't even begin to blow u away like what she could do at 17 or 27...
@TIKTAK19015 жыл бұрын
Emily played 3 songs or at least parts of 3 the first was "Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum" by Debussy the second was "A Train" by Duke Ellington and the last was "Northern Lights" by Emily Bear

Holy crap!!! It was hard not to think of all the GMA people as condescending with her after hearing her play. It was almost like they didn't expect it. I saw her on Ellen Degeneris once and nearly bawled my head off. Why? I don't know why?

TIKTAk do you know what the name of the song is Emily wrote and played a few seconds on the WGN9 special they did on her for her instructor Emilio? she played a little of it while they were saying she composed for him since he was ill.... it was such a lovely sounding song, i would love to hear the rest. Thanks :)

I cant help but notice the contrast between Emily and the people standing there by GMAs window with their signs. Like Emily they should be doing something more productive with their lives instead of standing there early in the morning holding up homemade signs and waving to the camera every so often. Take the two little girls at the lower left corner for example. Their parents should put them in front of a piano (or any other instrument) instead of tv cameras just to hold up signs and wave
@accskaguy15 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think they sure missed out by not having a larger piece of that tune played for them on air. Just a few teaser opening bars, where she even sings along herself! (Where were their priorities anyways... :) ) After all she *wrote* it especially for them! I mean, c'mon!

Wait, in another video she says she was 3 when she started composing, and in this vid she says she was almost 5 when she started to play. Explain this....
@GH-oi2jf4 жыл бұрын
Unknown She started lessons when she was about five, I think. When she as two, she figured out how to play a scale on her own. Her earliest compositions were short pieces, ideas which were later elaborated. Obviously, she progressed very rapidly, so she probably is thinking of a different level of playing when she gives different ages. I don’t think she can remember a time when she wasn’t playing at all.

I imagine Emily Bear is getting sick of being referred to as 'The Mozart of our Time'. Maybe it would be more accurate to say Mozart was the Emily Bear of his time.

@dncviorel somebody's extremely jealous, you sound like Salieri talking about Mozart....a child playing in the streets of Salzburg, too many notes I think. If everyone with this kind of talent waited until they were 17/18 to perform they wouldn't be called prodigy's would they?
